Nope, it's alive and well and living in ST's blood.

 

They're still going. I was in one in Leith last week. Didn't buy anything, mind.

They also own FOPP which is a much better place to buy DVDs.

 

Yeah along with Virgin both gone,I think Tower are still on the go.

 

Pretty sure HMV own FOPP music stores.

In Edinburgh we used to have a big HMV on Princes Street and a smaller branch just off the east end of Princes Street at the opening of the St/ James Shopping Centre. These stores are both now kaput leaving FOPP on Rose Street as the only city centre music outlet.

Sometimes ransack this HMV if I have been down to the 'fit o' the Walk' around 07.10 for a wee drink at the Tam o' Shanter, The Marksman and Swanny's before topping up at the Ocean Terminal Cafes.
