Yeah road closures are frequent in the winter. The Tioga pass will be closed that time of year, which is a shame, because it's a stunning drive up there into the high elevation meadows. The valley will be stunning though still and the waterfalls should be in good flow too. Make sure you do some of the short hikes from the Valley floor, there are loads of easy 1-2 mile loops.
Saw her on a flight after the ash cloud restrictions had been lifted back in 2010. She looked like she’d been sunbathing next to the volcano.
Post some pics from Yosemite And make sure you drive the PCH back from San Francisco. Reckon this trip is going to give you the travel bug I was talking about. You'll be ditching your job in when you get back

There’s a great little town called Carmel-by-sea near Monterey. Good for lunch and a stroll on the beach before hitting up the winding roads of Big Sur. Have fun mate. California is a wonderful part of the world.
