All I will say is it should be a good sign although nothing will change right away. I think Les got a bit stale in the job. Took too much for granted and relied on Hunter who as far as I can see was next to useless. I just hope the next Director of football is given a decent fund to get us back to where we should be. I would think that sparkies job just might be dodgy too. ( or should I say I hope it is). As usual though you always have to start somewhere........COYS

The last phrase would indicate that this was a sudden decison, I wonder who or what triggered it? The fact that they don't appear to have replacement lined up would suggest that they weren't expecting it.
I suspect it was stewing for a while then we stayed up and it was decided to see how this season panned out. They may seriously have no idea of a replacement at this point....or they have, but would not like to appear to have someone lined up out of respect for Les's feelings. Remember some of the Board have known Les for years...you make the right decision for the company's sake, but you are still dealing with someone you have known personally.
Or perhaps that they've been watching too much of The Apprentice. Very reminiscent of the final line before the end credits each week.
I don't know if I want to thank the guy after hearing a lot of **** he has done. But um umm thanks and bye?
End of the day Reed was very much in charge of the football side of things. He did a lot of stuff I didn't like. Krueger handled other stuff but still not that well Hunter and Hughes next please
Why rush to replace? Transfer window isn’t open until January, so just make sure we have one by then. Unless, of course, we need a new Director of Football sooner, to interview a new manager.
Feels like we need a football person fronting things asap. Too many people at our club with little to no clue. Ralph scares the **** out of me. But he does know a lot about ice hockey.
All intriguing stuff today; its clear that something doesn't smell right and has been rotten in Denmark for a couple of years. Will be most interesting to see what happens next... this strikes me as an end of the season thing and to announce a review of footballing operations during the season would never be done lightly. If there is considerable and growing division behind the scenes that has lead to this now, its all got to be something big. People will have a pop at Gao for being absent but it may have been him that pushed the button on this one. If so, a brave decision that may ultimately not work in terms of Prem safety. I think I had missed the Hughes appointment being a Reed thing and as Leitch said, will be interesting to see if it leaves MH exposed in his position or frees him up in any way shape or form. Kreuger has many critics and I have been one in the past, most businesses have someone like him somewhere and I think he generally knows how to run a sporting organisation but I would worry if he was left in charge for months at a time. We did so well in so many areas under Reeds early tenure and I think a lot went his way too; but that has gone South recently, Reeds hesitation to sanction the wallet being opened on so many occasions has beaten us all down in a way. Sadly though, I think we just havent moved with the times, not many can argue with the logic of what he argued for, looking for talent within-but that was always based on footballs financial bubble bursting. It hasnt and it summed it up for me when Reed argued against the club signing £25 million pound players like Lerma at the Fans Forum, business first, football club second. We used to be a football club first and a business second, the balance needs to be restored...
