Football is a results business and the results have been poor for 18 months now but not only that the whole football side of things at the club has lost direction. The man at the top had to go, but i'm hoping that Hunter has been sacked also as the Academy should be producing more than it has in the last few years. Thanks Les for your part in taking us from the bottom of League One to Europe but it was overdue for a change.
As did Markus Liebherr on 30th June 2011! Just the term used to signify the end of tenure, for whatever reason.
He did - he was offered the chance to stay and sit on the board, as opposed to doing it all himself ... he threw his dummies out the pram and quit.
It was quoted at the time that Nicola was not sacked, but chose not to take the restrictions being placed on him. I think he did wonders for us, but his megalomania had got out of control. I don't blame Katharina...if I owned an asset as valuable as Saints, I'd want to have more direct control as well. Nicola was throwing someone else's money around with gay abandon. She showed loyalty by offering to keep him as Chairman, but his pride/judgement made him say no.
Also, does anyone know what Ralph’s day-job entails? Is he now the most powerful ‘football’ person at the club? I know he gets wheeled out at end/beginning of seasons as a fall guy but what about in between.
So it would appear they are placing the blame at Reed's door. I assume this means Hughes will stay on, unless we get a new Director of Football who wants his own man. If I were a betting man I'd bet on it being someone Chinese taking Reed's role
Even for mentioning that name I will report you to the mods (unless you care to give me a nice brown envelope).
