Morning all. A little overnight rain and maybe some more to come during the day. Need to fill the car with fuel, and glad to see that the price is slightly lower as one of the supermarkets has a special offer on for the whole of November. Have a good day whatever you intend to do.
Morning all. Mild, cloudy, windy, and showers seems to be the order of the day. Today I start my journey north with the first stop at Chartres for some dinner. I have become very much like a native when it comes to midday and everyone pulls over for a break and refuel. Looks as if it might be a bit choppy in the Channel so Mme will have her herbal travel pills to hand. Have a good day whatever you plan to do.
On a very stormy sea. Just spilled my cup of hot chocolate in my lap. The discomfort is not quite as bad as the appearance.
Good morning, Sir Dave; good morning, all. Sorry haven’t been around for a bit. Been busy in hospital getting Achilles sorted. In plaster for two weeks, plastic ‘boot’ for four more. Halfway through that on Friday. Been on Twitter a lot recently. I try to stay off social media but I got drawn into a while ago when I read something that I couldn’t let go, and during this recovery I’ve been on it some more. There are quite a few witty people on, which I like, there’s the self-righteous lot, the rabid, all sorts. But I’ll probably be told (quite rightly) by Mrs Andy to leave it. I’ll turn into one of the ‘gammons’, otherwise. Have you heard that term? I think I read it’s from the Pickwick Papers, certainly Dickensian, anyway. It means one of those overweight, pink-faced, angry, middle-aged men who get redder as their vocalised indignation increases. Hope you’re all well. It’s gonna take some time to catch up. All the best, Andy. PS I see the Canaries are flying, Dave?
I'm a Dickens fan but didn't remember 'gammons' Andy so I looked it up...Mr Gregsbury in 'Nicholas Nickleby' apparently. I think I know a few of them! Hope the heel's healing!
Morning all.. We are off to London this weekend to see the Tina Turner musical and visit Diwanas at Euston... one of my all time favourite Indian restaurants Sent from my F8331 using Tapatalk
Hi Yorkie. Are you really a fan of Diwanas? Last time I went there the food was awful, the staff was rude and they tried to rip us off on the bill. You should try Sagar in Covent Garden, veggie/vegan only but the best curry you'll get in London by far.
Here is more to the "Gammon" reference, is that you Andy? Speedy recovery to you, I guess no Januray transfer coming up for you then! Dave, I thought I read the Champioonship table wrong, the sixfingered inbreds are second top! (No not Ipswoich!) FEZ, careful you'll be drinking Irn Bru daily soon! Yorkie, enjoy TT! OFH, sod the sea crossing, are there flights? But I guess you need the car. I think I nearly died going from Wales to Ireland by Ferry once. Nearly everyone was ill on the choppy seas. Is the hovercraft any smoother? TOBY, best curry I had was veggie / vegan in Manchester. No booze in the place either, I asked for a beer they said no can do and when i asked ok the wine menu then they had to kindly explain to me. Glad we stayed mind, itwas tiptop! MARK, KCEspaña, NZ, Dan2, BrianGringo, Aftershavehornet, Hornette, A1, Theo & SuperConservativeHorn - ¡¡Saludos!! Is that all of us in the Hornet's nest? Sorry If I have missed anyone. ROLL ON THE WEEKEND ALL AND HOPEFULLY 3 POINTS!!
Evening all from a rather chilly Bucks. Seem to have spent most of the day sat in traffic jams. Highlight of the day was seeing a very expensive super car sat sat on the hardshoulder with a AA man scratching his head.
Morning all. Looks like we have had some overnight rain, but the sun is trying to break through now. Seems that OFH is going to the cinema tonight to see Bohemian Rhapsody. I haven't been to watch a film in over forty years. My middle daughter says it is very good. I will see.
May give that a go Toby... I have been going to Diwanas since the early 80s... Happy to see if I can better it. Sent from my F8331 using Tapatalk
