Meh natalie portman for me. Is scarlet johansen the one who did that film with Jack Nicholson in Japan or somewhere and was basically two lonely people in a foreign country?
I’m always reserved about saying footballers could just do this and that for charity. They probably do a hell of s lot for a lot of diff charities that we never hear of or know about. You then ask where does t stop? If they all give 20% to this charity then what about another charity why not give 20% to that and 20% to another one etc? Yeah hey can obviously cope giving away a whole weeks wage, heck could prob not pay them for 6 months and I doubt they’d know, but anyone giving anything to charity no matter how small shouldn’t be complained at for not doing more
Shouldn't be the players anyway, the club should have coughed up imo. Not because they are responsible but because it's the right thing to do
Not going to read into the article, but nobody should feel bad donating £1 to £100k and no matter what you have or earn.
The FA need to change their "prosecution" procedure, Mourinho was found to swear at and insult cameramen at OT by expert lip-readers(as in the Suarez/Terry cases)yet the independent committee they employ found he had no case to answer, now the daft twats have got to appeal that decision. They are basically using up money in paying for outsiders to make(or not make in this case)decisions on their behalf, now more money will be spent on the appeal, money that could be added to grassroots football funding.
Why are they appealing? Was this a police matter? IMO its quite simple... its all false morality. Same as "warning" mcClean there about the poppy but not matic and then turning round and "warning" faceless peopel not to abuse mcclean for "balance" As I understand it the guy has said for years he is not wearing a poppy as its a political anathema to him. He's getting abuse from the stands so he uses social media to call them cavemen and so he gets a "warning" from FA. He then goes and says if he was black or muslim there would be uproar over the abuse he gets and completely ignores their stupid warning. And matic meanwhile is unchallenged. BTW for me the poppy was highjacked by blair and his ilk as part of their "war on terror" and its like that little us flag lapel pin now. If you are seen without it you are unpatriotic which was not its original intent. It was for charity. You might even say the mass forcing of wearing of an emblem could be compared to regimes where such emblems of "the party" were required to get ahead. I find the whole lest we forget stuff forced at this point. As its now one hand saying war is terrible, we must never forget (I agree obviously) and the other hand is selling arms and fighting in Afghanistan and iraq and entwining the two to become some form of i don't know what.
Yeah, so apparently McClean is a **** for not wearing a poppy despite his genuine reason and explanation why, he gets slated by fans a hacks alike. Matic refuses to wear one, gives his genuine reason and it's accepted and he's given sympathetic treatment by the hacks that rip McClean to pieces.
Antonio Conte taking Chelsea to court for remaining salary https://www.skysports.com/football/...-taking-chelsea-to-court-for-remaining-salary
He is a bit of a **** himself though. Like lennon. a fiery character so his apporach to it is just to be in your face on the pitch and in your face on this too. But imo it's a patriot thing. he is seen as insulting the country so will get it. in the end fifa fined England for poppies and called it a political emblem. England tried and failed to make the case and imo it's cos every politician runs around withthe.for 6 or 8 weeks and it's a strong political statement as a result. you can't see the news without them.. etc etc. I personally think it's a shame as it is a good cause and vitally vitally important to remember. especially the stupid reason it began as a war. I resonate more with d day remembrances than armistice day personally.
i do dislike the "politicisation" of the Poppy day appeal and although i buy a poppy i haven't actually worn it though will on Sunday. Is it just me or do you see people wearing a poppy much earlier than you used to ?
No you are right. the important gesture was to buy one and then wear it on one day. that's all that was asked. it's been taken by political parties as a symbol and starts much earlier. hell it's like Christmas. 2 years ago in tesco i was in on halloween night about 9pm and they were stripping **** of shelf and stocking Christmas This year Christmas stuff was out before Halloween and the Halloween junk was even smaller displays than Christmas. before you know it jingle bells and poppy in July. seriously... It's at least 6 weeks to 8 weeks of poppy and the bbc do make a point of having everyone decorated
Infantino is full of crap to pretend FIFA is more powerful than the biggest clubs in Europe who just happen to be the biggest clubs in the world, I personally don't want a super League and I think the big clubs are just fishing for more money. Infantino might just cause the break up of FIFA if a super League comes about and he fulfilled his threat to ban players in a super League from playing for their countries, no way will Brazil etc accept their stat players are banned from playing for their nations. He also says Fifa's proposed new club world cup is the answer to the big clubs getting more cash, but that(surprise surprise)means more money for Uefa and their back pockets. An easy/easier option is for the club's to be allowed to keep the TV money they generate(as Real and Barca already do in Spain), at the end of the day it's only greed, not just by the big clubs but by the Premier League, the FA, Uefa and Fifa, one they find their place at the money trough and recieve a bigger slice of swill they'll be quiet for a few years more.....hopefully!
