I'm not sure that there's any value in signing anyone in the PL, maybe Herrera? Our chance to do that was Barkley but we managed to blow that one.

If we have to buy in the best foreign talent that we can afford, then so be it. Whatever struggles they have this season will be lessened next time out. Lucas had last season to acclimatise and it's now showing real benefits. I can't see us being able to take the best young PL talent away from our competitors in a fight on transfer fees or wages but we can do it abroad, with a much wider talent pool to choose from. What we need is early decisive action not last minute panic or extended dithering.

Let's pick an appropriate strategy and implement it.

 

One thing we should certainly consider for January is any player who is in the last six months of their contract, and there's plenty to choose from in that regard that would help our midfield

There's one name in there that I'm not having.....not just because he's an A Grade ****er. Fabregas now runs like I do. His engine's gone and replacing one expiring talent with another isn't going to solve our problems.

 

On the other hand, we can pay off the stadium quicker if we charge fans £10 to throw soggy tomatoes at him

 

How much to chuck harder stuff?

 

Rice has looked great since doing a Dier-esque transition from CB to DM. It’s highly doubtful but IF West Ham would be willing to sell in January, it’d be a very smart move. He supposedly only wants £40k yet they’re refusing to meet it so far, not sure why as he’s one of the only players who looks like an actual footballer in that team.

 

They want a striker apparently so a swap for either Llorente or Jansen (or both) could be a good move for us,

 

I know we don't need him but that Diang looks good on the wing for West Ham

 

That’d be funny as **** as well. Swapping our cast-off for their best prospect.

 

They're supposedly after Wanyama too, so swappign a healthy prospect for an established player with a career-threatening injury would be very, very West Scam

 

Ze Germans are sniffing around him for the summer, as he'd cost them virtually nothing and it's the new thing over there.
Grabbing up young, English talent that's not getting a chance makes a lot of sense for some of the better German sides.
Sancho's started something of a trend and they're eyeing up a number of players, by all accounts.

 

It doesn't seem to be so effective in France, however, as Reo Griffiths hasn't even made the bench for Lyon B this season, let alone got on the pitch

 

While Keanan Bennetts has made 7 appearances in the German 4th tier, apparently. Hmm...

Not in goal...Julio played there for the youth team of Real Madrid.

 

That rang a faint bell I must say. In terms of buying in the transfer window, very low value even so.

 

He could stand in for Chas Hodges......I wonder how "Gertcha" translates into Castillian?

Very tidy player, I'd love to have him at the club. I can't see Bournemouth selling him mid-season other than for an insane amount of money, which kind of counts us out, unless we've got someone we want to sell that they really fancy. He'll cost about double the price of a similarly skilled foreigner.
