They both ****ed off for the money after making statements that they were going to stay. I appreciate the work that they did but it was too short lived.

Ron was worse though because of how much he blew schmoke up our arses on social media.

Poch ****ed off because his sponsor was edged out. Koeman probably saw the writing on the wall. I don’t blame either of them for that.

He made a statement the day that Cortese left saying that he had talked to him and he was was going to carry on with the project.

Cortese was asked to stay on by the way, but maybe he was told to reign in the spending a bit I don't know.

Poch was a great manager for us and is doing alright with spuds. I like him but don't really get the hype that some give him. Koeman was much more successful as a Saints manager and in that case can probably be called the best saints manager in the Liebherr times. I would say Poch inherited a better squad than what Koeman did so Poch had the slightly easier job where as Koeman had to do a bit of rebuilding first. I would take Koeman back tomorrow.

Were we expecting him to say “yeah, I’m ****ing off” half way through the season? He’d intimated enough that were Cortese to go, he would follow. And I wouldn’t believe the post-Cortese club spin on his departure one bit, by the way (particularly in terms of the ‘uncontrolled’ spending).

I thought Koeman was willing to see his contract out, but wasn't willing to extend it....and then there was a bust up which gave him the excuse to go to Everton.
Or did I just imagine that:huh:

The way I see it is that he saw us as a way to make his name in England and used us to get a better pay day. He never even tried to speak english with us, but hey presto he rocks up at Spuds speaking it perfectly acceptably.
He was always going to go when one of the big boys came calling and Cortese quitting was a good out for him. He gave us a grand total of 60 games btw.

Something along those lines, yes. I’m sure the ludicrous salary offer from Everton helped soften the blow, even if the experience didn’t! Either way, I just don’t see him as an especially good manager, from ground up.

If Cortese had stayed, and been allowed to continue the project, Poch would have stayed on. I’m certain of that.

He was a good manager for us without a doubt, but a Saint he ain't. he used the club and wasn't honest with the fans imo.

Regardless of that, I hold no grudge toward Poch or Koeman for leaving when, and how, they did. I think they both had very good reasons to do so, as has been borne out by our travails since.

I disagree. The Saints he joined wasn’t the Saints he left.

Maybe it can become so again. Who knows. Fingers crossed it does.

I’m sorry guys...but we will not attract any decent replacement manager worth his salt. Mainly because managers are usually ambitious........our board at Saints ain’t........until this shower of a board wakes up will not go anywhere other than down........sorry to be so pessimistic but that’s how I see things at the mo!

I expect a manager to respect the club whilst here and hopefully remain fond of the club afterwards, but I don't expect them to be a 'fan'. Clubs dispense with managers at a moments notice, so it works both ways.
