Of course it is all in our hands. Having to beat PSG is not going to easy despite them ****ing up the last few occasions. Even drawing at PSG would still need us to beat Napoli. If we get beaten by PSG then we have to beat Napoli by 2 clear goals. Napoli scoring one will put massive pressure on us and we know Italian teams are rather good at protecting leads aren’t they?

Sorry if this sounds rather pessimistic but it is reality.

At home I’d back us to beat Napoli by 2

Last season I'd have agreed, but we're finding it so hard to score these days.
There's just no fluidity in the attack - the same players that were rampant last year can't even find each other with a simple pass now.
    Baffling.

I would too against any of our domestic sides (minus City Chelsea and other top 6 sides) . But having to do that against Napoli is a different ball game.

Table is looking worrying but get something at PSG and it'll be ok. I hope.

Sad to say, I think Lallana's had his chips. Not been the same since the injury

Horrible performance. There’s just no cohesion or fluidity to our play, and it’s stemming from our midfield.

Which is unsurprising given we’re not using natural central midfielders, we’re constantly chopping and changing, and we’re switching from a double pivot or midfield every other week.

Gini, Milner and Lallana - 3 players who would be better suited when having to run around and press like mad men, and create chaos in the middle of the park. But none are capable of getting on the ball, passing through the lines, playing in between the lines, and asserting control. These lads put in a shift off the ball and cover ground when we don’t have possession, but they’re so static when we’re in possession (Lallana is less though to be fair).

Our best performances have come when one of Keita or Shaqiri has started. Keita hasn’t been great but he’s still involved in our build up play. And we need to stay away from this horrible 433. It doesn’t suit our players one bit.

Whilst the attackers aren’t playing great, they’re not getting much service other than long balls down the flanks. Then they’re expected to beat 3-4 men by themselves and find someone in the box - and that someone is typically just one person because there’s no one else from midfield supporting.

I think the blame has to go to Klopp - he’s been constantly changing the style and formation, and it’s really shackling us from an attacking perspective. We need to ditch this horrible 433 and go all out on 4231 because we have the players now, and it was his formation at Dortmund. The only reason he used 433 at Liverpool is because certain players couldn’t play in a midfield 2.

433 works for city and Chelsea.

    it's not horrid.

if we go 4231 then we will just end up sticking salah up top, firmino no 10 and shaqiri on right.

then we will have the exact same problems as the 2 will be over ran constantly.

the whole.point of 433 is the dominate.midfield with firmino adding an extra body.

We were pathetic in midfield in last two games.

Salah spends most of his time looking into the sky as hoofs at him. then he gets blamed for not scoring

I agree with Jimmy to a point. We need that player who plays between the lines personally I'd put Shaq in there.

It works for City because they have the likes of KDB, Bernardo Silva, David Silva, Gundogan ahead of Fernandinho.

We’re using the likes of Milner, Gini, Lallana ahead of the 6. And that’s the problem. It’s less of a problem when we have real ball players come into the team ie shaq Ox and Keita.

And we hardly ever dominate the midfield, even with 3 mids - because we don’t have players who like to get on the ball.

Our best performances either came with a 433 but with Gini Keita and Milner mid, or 4231 with Gini and Fabinho pivot (small sample).

I think in either case, we need to show more balls in midfield.

and every time it seemed to be cleared again by virgil, sounded like they was all over us ffs. be ****ed without him at the back.

Given the size of the pitch, there should have been time and space on the ball. But we looked so rigid and static.

We really need Keita and Fabinho to get up to speed ASAP.

That'll take time, I'd play Wijnaldum, Milner and Shaqiri in there and bring Fabinho and Keita on or start them at home but one not both.

Surely him and Sturridge have got to be toast now.Nobody covered themselves in glory last night a really awful perfomance.Klopp shouldn't have allowed the Belgrade supporters possible reaction to Shaq colour his selection....Shankly certainly wouldn't have. What next leave out Salah against the spuds in case he gets stick.FFS.

Studge will do ok brought on as a sub. Lallana just needs to move on as he has no impact on the pitch at all.

the midfelder playing between lines has to be keita.... has to be.

shaq did ok in a couple of easier games and we want him to play there all the time. We need just to be careful here.
