    Bolton v Swansea City

    Competition - Sky Bet Championship
    Date - 10 November 2018
    Kick off - 3pm
Venue - University of Bolton Stadium

Following the disappointment of losing 1-2 to Rotherham in a match largely dominated by his team, next up for Graham Potter’s Swansea City is a visit to Bolton.

Rotherham stunned Swansea City with a 2-1 comeback victory at the New York Stadium.

The Millers were looking to end a run of eight games without a win and managed to do so via two late penalties from Ryan Manning.

Oli McBurnie's seventh goal of the season had given the Swans the lead after fine work from the impressive Daniel James.

However, the Swans failed to score again and paid the penalty when Manning twice slotted home from the spot.

So Swansea’s 72% possession and 12 shots (to Rotherham’s 7) counted for nothing.

The night before Swansea’s defeat in South Yorkshire, Bolton has lost to Aston Villa - Jack Grealish's fourth-minute strike gave Villa the perfect start, but all they could add to it was a second-half header from skipper James Chester.

Villa's victory was only their fifth in 16 Championship games this season.

But Phil Parkinson's Bolton have now managed just one win in 12, having picked up only one point out of a possible last 18.

The Swans and Bolton have met on 34 occasions, with Swansea winning 10, Bolton 13, with 11 drawn matches.

The teams last met on 21 April 2012 in a Premier League match at the Reebok Stadium. The Swans took the lead that day in the 6th minute through a Scott Sinclair goal, bug that was cancelled out just 8 minutes later via a goal by Chris Eagles.

Turning to Saturday, I think that both sides will be determined to get back to winning ways, but have a feeling that they will have to settle for a draw: 1–1 <cheers>

Agree. It's time to be clinical in front of goal.

    Going for a 3-1 win.

1-0 to the Swans. Bolton are not a good team, but then again neither were Ipswich and Rotherham!

Nordfelt is No1 and if fit he has to play. He is not that bad ffs and ave saved our skins many of times.......Try blaming the forwards who have had so many chances to score in the last 3 games that it's embarresing, They are the ones who are losing us games.....We should be 3 points clear at the top now and not in 9th place...

Dai - I agree that our forwards need to take the chances created for them.

Turning to the goalkeeper, could you please remind me of some of the occasions when he ‘ave saved our skins many of times’? 3 or 4 examples would suffice.

For my part, Mulder seems the more assured of the two in goal, and the players around him seem to be more confident when he’s behind them. Mulder looked better than Nordfeldt when he replaced him against Preston and ‘saved’ us away at Birmingham.

No real confidence in the score - we are a mid table team that can win one lose one with no real consistency.

We've gone from being able to win away at Old Trafford and Anfield to losing away at Rotherham in a few short years.

Sorry but to compare winning at Old Trafford and Anfield doesn't make sense to me , we're now at the level with the players we have where we will win and lose to teams such as R/Ham etc the same as, with different squad of players, capable of winning and losing to the likes of L/Pool or Utd when we were in the PL , we were happy for 3/4 years to be a midtable PL Club and towards the end just hoping not to be relegated ,I'm happier where we are now then I was for the past 3 years but that's just my opinion

But my point is still valid. We've gone from being a decent team to an average Championship team in a few short years.
My belief that we could give anyone a game on our day has been eradicated and therefore have no confidence in any match we play.

We bought in a panic on players that cost more than other teams were prepared to pay and we put them on big contracts that they did not have to worry whether we won or not.......They used us as a stop gap until something better came along picking up over the top wages....I'm so glad the Americans have put their foot down and made some great changes and necessary decisions to get rid of these costly players that were dragging the club down...I'm Glad we were finally relegated in the end that have forced these changes to be made and it has not been as bad as some fans thought it would be...The season has been great so far in the championship with a better class and more entertaining football and we are ahead of where anyone thought we would be with a new side so young. I'm proud of how the Americans have turned things around at the club.....
