I find it funny you know what religion they all are. Not all folk from Ireland are catholic you know. Even ones with ‘catholicky’ sounding names.

 

Martin O'Neill and Brendan Rodgers aren't abrasive characters. Neil Lennon is. The fact that Neil Lennon is an abrasive character from Northern Ireland who just happens to be a Catholic is what really irks the huns.

Football is full of abrasive characters but I can't recall any other player or manager getting the sheer amount of abuse, death threats and vitriol that's rained down on Neil Lennon over the past few years.

He actually doesn't, I don't mind him that much. I've met him a few times on nights out through friends that know him and in that environment hes a good laugh. Has some good stories to tell and isn't shy in spending his money.

You're doing what you do with most on here and putting words in their mouth, or putting words in their posts as it were. Thats twice now you've used the phrase “he brings it on himself” even though I've never said it. Its possible to hold the position that both are in the wrong, the people going OTT with the abuse are wrong but Lennon is also in the wrong. It doesnt need to be one or the other.
