I seem to recall many moons ago Stan Petrov was hit at Ibrox while celebrating infront of the Rangers fans with a plastic cup (yes, a plastic cup). He went down like a sniper had hit him, soon realised he may have overdone it, got up and both he and the fan apologised. The incident was put to bed there and then.

Lennon could've done the same, but instead chose to milk the moment for all it was worth and now its been made into a big thing. Would expect nothing less from someone like Lennon though.

That was a cup of societies cancer that was throw at Petrov ...and look how that turned out.

 

Maybe it's because of all the things that have happened to him in the past such as being hit by objects, physically assaulted at the side of the pitch, physically assaulted in the street, having bombs sent to him in the post, having to be moved out of his home in the middle of the night by the poice due to a serious threat to his life etc.

And all that because he cups his ears and winds up opposition fans apparently.

 

Well you would think he would've learned the first time, if you act like a fanny you attract other fannies to act like a fanny towards you. Lennon has been up here long enough to know it doesn't take much to set people off, thats not his fault people are like that, but why add fuel to the fire. The answer is he can't help himself.

Saying **** them and let them take their punishment is fair enough but the one thing thats get old is the “poor little Neil Lennon” lines that get rolled out, always innocent and always the victim.

Not really, no. A comparison with the 'wee guy' would be telling Neil Lennon to go **** himself. It's not comparable to sending bombs in the post or assaulting him at the side of a football pitch.

However the Morelos comparison is stupid. Lennon has had abuse, specifically racist abuse, since he signed for Celtic, not before. He also had a death threat sprayed on a wall on the day of the game.

This didn't happen in England or Russia to these guys.

Lennon is highlighting racism (making a big thing) and the response, from some who crow about bananas being thrown 30 years ago, is that he should keep quiet about it [emoji85]

I find it hard to believe he was ever applauded playing for NI due to him being extremely ****e. Nothing to do with what club team he plays for.
