Anyone else wondering Ings will still be here at the end of the season? Liverpool will probably think they could get a better deal elsewhere, like the Toby scenario.
I was unfortunately away from technology so couldn't enjoy the fan reaction, but I'm pretty sure everyone could hear my forehead slap when Hughes said that a 0-0 with Bournemouth was a statement of intent.
Sorry Beefy, despite a great first touch still* I think my chances of a comeback are behind me. * yeah I know, but what the feck, none of you know any different so I’ll just have that one
Dear MH . Next time you are going to criticise a team for the wat it plays , please do it After the game ok ?
Deal is already done. I do wonder if we have a relegation clause though? Would be crazy having Ings on 70k a week in Championship
Lemina should have played him in just now. The chance was there and the kid pointed to where he wanted the ball, but Lemina wasted the opportunity by trying to pick our a cross field pass
You can't expect every signing to work out, it doesn't work out 100% of the time for any club. But our recruitment has been beyond poor for too long now. If you have a limited budget, you need the players you do bring in to work out more often then not and that has not been the case. We needed to spend on a CB and did. Unfortunately, and I don't want to completely write him off yet, he isn't living up to bill. Armstrong and Ely are in the same boat, meaning we are pretty much running out the same players that barely crawled across the line last season.
"Clearly we didnt start well and left ourselves a mountain to climb, But the players clearly showed real character and I thought we had a spell mid way through the second half when we were the better side (for about 5 seconds). Clearly we need to learn from this and step up. We have a big game next week and its clearly important the fans show their support as they did last time out against Newcastle"
I know we've been outrageously poor today due to almost every reason in the book, but the obvious quality difference between City and us is outrageous.
I think at this this point, Hughes pretty much has to go. It’s not all his fault, and I would not expect any sort of immediate turnaround from a replacement. But I think we are going down, and there just aren’t many strings you can pull even in desperation. And I certainly don’t think Hughes has made himself irreplaceable. Whoever we get might not be better, but I have reasonable faith we can find someone about as good. Or even if the new manager is worse, does it really matter if we are going down with Hughes anyway?
