That Ings goal is great as most people have City defenders in fantasy football. Shame everyone has captained Aguero but I can live with him only having 1. Can we call it full time at half time?

Disappointing free kicks.
Why is no one spinning off and trying to get round the back of the defence instead of hitting into the same space they have cleared from three times now?

If you want to blame the manager, he gets appointed by the board.

If you want to blame the players, they get signed by the board.

Getting rid of the board (whether before or after any relegation) would be a much more likely way of us being able to turn ourselves around, than getting relegated would be.
Rubbish. Not the board out on the pitch is it? Not the board who organises a team and gets them to play is it? Not the board who picks the starting 11.

Wow, if increasing our position is going wrong then I'll take that.

Started going wrong when Mr Gao started showing an interest.

No, it didn’t. Things had started to go South before then.

As far as I can tell, GAO seems to be an unintrusive owner. The money has been there. Not as much as we’d like, but certainly enough to where we should not be where we are.

Gao ultimately bears a decent chunk of the blame, but it’s for failing to clear house and stop the slide, not for causing it.

Honestly, I think this squad is capable of so much more but not necessarily this team. The coaching staff must take a lot of the responsibility here but it always strikes me that when 11 players fail to make even an effort to follow instructions, sacking half a dozen non-playing staff above them seems fundamentally too much of a let off for them.

I do smile though at all the fans wanting Hughes sacked immediately when it was the same fans demanding he be given a permanent contract after keeping us up; because clearly, ' he's got the players believing again'. I was never a Hughes fan but sacking a manager after 10 games is simply not on.

I would love - simply love to see the U23s play in the cup against this same Man city side and get a result lol.

I didn't want Hughes in the summer and I don't want him now. I said it back then, we are the new Sunderland. Fire a manager late on in the season who then keeps us up, give him a contract to fire him in December of the next season, rinse and repeat. Hopefully we sack Hughes before Christmas so we can actually have a few options on who to go for, not in March when you have to go for the same kind of manager as Hughes.

This isn't a knee jerk to today, I have been consistent with this since the first day he was appointed last season

Poor Gao has been sold a pup
Should have cleared out the management and brought in his own new outfit

The club is leaderless under Gao, at least under katharina she showed an interest, got involved etc and everyone was on the same wave length.

Now, not so much and it's filtering down to the playing squad, aided by bad recruitment.

The owner doesn’t need to be a leader, he pays Ralf, Les and Hughes for that.

The board picks the manager who does those things, and they authorize the players to be signed.

When there are so many things wrong with the club, the blame has to start from the top. No, the board isn’t on the pitch, but as long as the board is there we can be fairly certain whoever is on the pitch will suck.
