It’s not just the board though is it? It’s everyone. For 2 seasons we’ve all been arguing over who is to blame. It’s the lot of them.
Said in previous threads - if we could swap our PL position for a Championship, without the heartache of relegation, I’d bite their ****ing arm off.
If you want to blame the manager, he gets appointed by the board. If you want to blame the players, they get signed by the board. Getting rid of the board (whether before or after any relegation) would be a much more likely way of us being able to turn ourselves around, than getting relegated would be.
Wow, if increasing our position is going wrong then I'll take that. Started going wrong when Mr Gao started showing an interest.
Honestly, I think this squad is capable of so much more but not necessarily this team. The coaching staff must take a lot of the responsibility here but it always strikes me that when 11 players fail to make even an effort to follow instructions, sacking half a dozen non-playing staff above them seems fundamentally too much of a let off for them. I do smile though at all the fans wanting Hughes sacked immediately when it was the same fans demanding he be given a permanent contract after keeping us up; because clearly, ' he's got the players believing again'. I was never a Hughes fan but sacking a manager after 10 games is simply not on. I would love - simply love to see the U23s play in the cup against this same Man city side and get a result lol.
In hindsight - and I really didn't want to believe it at the time - I think the day Cortese was sacked was the day the dream died. We got lucky with Pochettino's replacement, and we got lucky with replacing some of our players, for a while. But then, inevitably, the luck ran out.
When she handed over complete control to the two muppets' it took time for their incompetence to drag us down
