Why do teams not do it every week then? It's offside mate, always as been.

This is why even good teams with fast players don't start with their back lines on the half way line when opponents have goals kicks

    That's just common sense.

TBF, it doesn't matter what the rules say with goal kicks as it's never going to happen anyway. Bit of a joke rule.

Bit like entering the area before the ball as left the area after a goal kick. Doesn't matter who touches it, it's a retake. Means the defender can just touch it too early to get out of trouble

    So.

    1. Lino got every one of our calls right. Every high line we played arsenal got flagged all night.

    2. Lino clearly was in line with original offside call and clearly mane went for ball but firmino to to it first. Clearly he wasnt inline when firmino shot. It's a call he's made on what he saw live. I note nobody called mane on until they saw tight replay.

    3. **** happens.

How about people stop making excuses cos for at least 60mins of this game arsenal were all over us... we defended as well as we could but we have seen the same issues time and again in midfield.

P.s. I've not even gone near fabinho performance

Defending is part of the game. Arsenal were all over us and we dealt with it. We missed good chances too. End of the day we scored 2 legal goals, they scored one, and the officials decided to award us a point each.

    No we didn't.

The thing is, the ref is god so it doesn't matter what any of us think. It's not a goal unless he gives a goal. End of.

That linesman did his best, didn't try to rob us at all. End of. If he got a marginal call wrong cos the guy was offside and kept going and from his angle he couldn't see the ball what half a yard max.. max.. ahead.

Pretty sure aguero got one against huddersfield from an "offside" position from edersons goal kick. Never been offside from goal kick mate

Hes one he nearly scored against the spuds

This is a match which we should have won. As genuine title challengers we had to win and to be honest we had enough chances to score a few goals. When we had that counterattack soon after the first goal and the cross came in for Mane to tap it in, I thought Game Over!! We really should have won comfortably in the end. We have let a genuine opportunity slip away.

We have to wish for City to lose as many points as possible. That annual moment is approaching when we face that usual dilemma: Do we really want the mancs to win? Next weekend, City have to lose (a draw won’t be good enough if they win tomorrow) against their local rivals. Would everyone of us wish City to lose?
For me, there is no problem. The red mancs don’t present a threat to the title and if we are serious then we want City to be significantly pegged back. A red Win in the Manc derby.

So anyway...... now the drama is over.

    Match analysis time;

Did emry win the tactical battle? There were several phases to the game and adjustments made so the game flowed back and forth. I felt klopp set us up from the off to attack down our left but it back fired big time as arsenal ripped us up down our right back channel several times.

In contrast lfc had an easy out ball to salah constantly and we imo failed to properly exploit it, arsenal then shut that off
aubameyang moved inside, we saw Milner moved to right side.. firmino was dropped right I to midfield and we dominated for 15mins second half then the subs came on and frankly.... Arsenal won the substitutes.

Arsenals problem has been at the back, they hadn't met a decent outfit lately but they managed to cough a goal up today. Leno really ****ed up. They brought 2 lads back off the sick list and thry managed to get through it as full backs as their midfield prevented us really getting at them. Mane and salah proved it was well possible if they got ball.

We made holding look good. We didnt kill mustafi.... that poor.

Imo lfc problems are all in midfield.

    A) back 5. Very good, central 3 superb this year. Absolutely superb. Full backs not so great but decent.

    B) front 3... hmmm, I can't decide if their work rate without the ball is lacking or what but they are getting in good positions without good supply.

    C) midfield. Imo we've 3 no 6s. Windy anywhere but no 6 doesn't work for me any more. He works hard enough, he rarely loses it and is strong on it but it's not good at no 8. Keita isnt fit, hasnt been fit, milner i dunno. Milner shpuld be leading the midfield press and joining the front 3. I dunno what's going on.

Or we could wait to see an angle from linos angle and see if it's obvious or not.

It's clear mane was miles off originally and kept going. Lino didn't flag when firmino hit it. Therefore I can only conclude that lino felt mane was always off and was ahead.

So while the armchair brigade can debate that off replays in line the thing is lino was not in line for that phase. Until you see what he saw... well...

    P.s.

    A) we had it flagged off

    B) we had several half decent chances from set piece. Vvd and firmino missed them.

    C) we led 1-0

So.... this offside wasn't even the critical issue in game <laugh>

Sorry it's just convienent excuse to cover us not being where we want to be.

    And

We are top of table for tonight and unbeaten v other top 6 sides. You'd swear we lost or somethibg
