I think a PL without the money clubs in it and therefore without the constant hype and media following over some ****s £90m haircut or the colour of their ****ing bootlaces would be ****ing marvelous tbh.

Yeah I'm sure your ST holders/ regular match goers are gonna love a hike in prices and the idea of having to travel abroad near enough every other week.

Actually I disagree here, I think if this happened then a lot of fans of the big clubs would **** it off for phoenix clubs etc.

There's already a large chunk who go to NL and that would only increase, the grounds would be full of 'spectators' rather than 'supporters', well even more so than now!

Nothing would really change mate. Some clubs would still be richer than others and **** haircuts would be the norm.

It would because there would be considerably less money (and interest) in it though.

Clubs would have to actually think about how they're treating their fans as it will become important to them again.

A PL without the top clubs isn't selling its TV rights for even a tenth of what they are now.

The Prem will no doubt lose it's glamour on a global scale but that doesn't bother the English supporting fans.

The only thing I'd genuinely miss if the ESL was invented would be four of the six London derbies each season. I ****ing love a London derby, games against Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham - in that order - what I look for first when fixtures are announced, losing four of those with Chelsea and Arsenal departing would be pretty gutting but I'm sure I could live with it.

There's always the FA Cup (which I'm sure they would still want part of, wrongly imo).

Me too, love the derbies. I'm against ESL and wouldn't want to join it. If the other clubs joined and we didn't, winning the league wouldn't mean as much as the big competition wouldn't have been there.

It's a case of I'd probably be unable to go. I couldn't afford to go abroad every other week to watch Spurs. I tend to do 6-7 away games a season and try to do one European away game as well. No chance could I do around 12 European trips a season, prices of flights would be a joke and I'd likely need to stay over for a night on some of them. Here in England already we're seeing far too many of the working class miss out because of the costs of football in the top flight, you'd see even more miss out with the ESL.

Aren't they essentially abandoning their FA's though if they join the ESL? So, unless they received special dispensation, they wouldn't be able to enter the FA or League Cup.

I don't do aways these days anyway. Wouldn't stop me going to home games though. Hope it doesn't happen anyway, would be sad if it does. I don't even like the CL tbh.

My old boss supports your lot and says the same about the CL. He just wants to win the FA Cup every season.

Possibly, would be pointless for any other side to try in it though if they were allowed. It's already tough as it is trying to get far in the competition due to the top 5-6 often being around the latter stages, if those in the ESL were granted permission to play in the cup, it'd near enough be a foregone conclusion one of them would win it. The strength of their "B" teams would still likely be better than those at the top of the Prem.

It'd depend how much ST's/ matches cost though surely?

I had to pay £995 for mine this season and that's one of the cheapest at Spurs. If say we entered into the ESL, the cheapest would probably end up being something like £1500. As much as I love Spurs, I'm not sure I'd wanna be paying through the roof to watch them. A general matchday ticket would probably cost something like £100 as well. Working class would be ****ed, mate.

£100 would be well out of my price range, not that we know how much tickets will actually cost. As for ST's, I haven't had one for years.
