Read it differently, but many community displays are tonight. Where I live if a celebration is date specific it is held on that date. It should be in the U.K. too
Would be interesting. Sure the quality of the teams left over would drop a little bit, the money would go down as the super league would get the big tv deals. Would hopefully make the domestic league more competitive but some of the teams would break away and be the new top 4.
I think it will happen at some point. Nobody gives a **** about the fans who go to games here, they are completely outnumbered by the millions in China/far east/India who don’t give a **** about no mark clubs like Saints, Everton or Burnley. They want to watch Man Utd Real Madrid every week
Yeah despite loads of smaller club fans getting excited about it creating more competition, they fail to realise that there will still be a top 4 or 6 so to speak, it will just be different clubs.
Money wouldn't just suddenly stop coming into the Premier League. Bigger sponsorships will no doubt go to those in the ESL but the Prem will still hold a lot of weight. Current deals and sponsorships wouldn't just expire either. The other day we inked an extenstion to our deal with Nike until 2033 (that's not a typo, 15 year deal), the current TV rights deal with the Prem doesn't expire until a year after the supposed date for the first ESL season either. Money would still heavily flow into England's top flight, it may not be as much if the ESL ever gets the go ahead but still more than plenty to help towards paying off the stadium. Besides, worst case scenario, we sell a key player or two if we were desperate.
Ok mystic meg. Stadium gets paid off easily then and we'll have dough left over to buy the best available talent.
Exactly. If the ESL league does happen then of course all the top players are going to want to go there. They are the biggest clubs anyway and they will have even more money. Every team left behind will be poorer than they are now as the TV deal would drop as the level of football would be lower and less star players in the league, and obviously less people watching worldwide. The ESL would be like the Prem and the domestic league the Championship. But yeah it would pay off the stadium so that is good.
With the greed of the FA/ Prem top brass, I'd highly doubt they'd agree to such a deal. The current deal only lasts until just one season after the supposed ESL creation.
Im dead against the breakaway but the simple fact is that the EPL would be **** all without those clubs.
In what way do you mean '**** all'? In terms of global interest? If so then good, **** like that that has ruined the game here.
Globally maybe but to the real, homegrown English fans, nothing really changes. We'll still support oursides regardless.
