Watching Polter getting robbed of a shock penalty shootout against Dortmund away, after a brilliant second half brace coming on as a substitute.
Robbed might be harsh, the penalty that surely will win it for Dortmund was stonewall though.
Shame, would have loved to see the BFG take a pen.

I think that may of been blind hope imo
England loves a build up then reality kicks in
    Ifs buts and maybes imo
There is a pattern to watching England play over the years but even I will admit this current set up looks the best ever imo

England due a tournament win as the mentality is changing with the football

The media and the fans well that’s another issue imo

You still in Ireland? Are you going home via Glasgow? If you are, and it's an overnight stay, drop me a PM and I'll try to get through for a beer (maybe kidnap you for the rest of the season seeing as you've bought us luck since you've been over!)

    Leave Ireland Saturday
    Leave Heathrow next week
The Glasgow exit was to put the kidnappers off the scent

PSG have just broken Spurs’ 1960-61 record of most consecutive wins at the start of a season in a major European league, getting their 12th. They are already 11 points clear at the top of Ligue 1.

That's all very well, but I had a bet on Napoli, Frankfurt and PSG all to win by 2 goals or more tonight.

Not sure Didcot Town would finish bottom of that league!

It’s weird, a weak league, but with a lot of good players in it. I had a quick look, and attendances in Ligue One have been going up for years, so it must be entertaining, and OM have huge crowds. The PL is way ahead of all the others in terms of average attendance. Serie A has collapsed. In the last year I was a season ticket holder, 1991/2, AC Milan had an average home attendance of 77,000. Now it’s only 52,000, behind ****ing Inter!

I was surprised to hear Arsenal's Lacazette say that he missed the atmosphere at Ligue 1 games, implying that the Premier League is inferior in that respect.

I get really confused when I hear players talk about atmosphere at games. Most, unlike Lacazette, sing the praises of England, and doubtless on the right day (usually for me a night game with a full house at LR) it is outstanding, but not I think usually. Generally I think the atmosphere in German games is much better, although it is also choreographed. It used to be great in Italy, or at the San Siro at least, especially before kick off, but it was a pale shadow of that last time I went, a couple of years ago.

Playing at the Emirates it's no surprise there's no atmosphere.
Worst fans in the league for lack of atmosphere imo.

The Premier League is full of tourists, and with astronomical prices driving the real fans away making the atmosphere flat in the process.
I would recommend both the German and Dutch league as way better if you want noice and atmosphere.

Wayne Rooney: England's record goalscorer set for farewell appearance

Wayne Rooney last played for England against Scotland at Wembley in November 2016

Wayne Rooney is set to come out of international retirement to make a farewell appearance for England against the United States later this month.

The 33-year-old - England's record goalscorer with 53 - has not played for the Three Lions since a 3-0 victory over Scotland in November 2016.

But Rooney, who plays for DC United, is expected to earn his 120th cap in the friendly at Wembley on 15 November.

The game will raise funds for the Wayne Rooney Foundation.

The Wembley Arch will be lit up in the gold colours of Rooney's charity.

After moving to the United States in July, Rooney scored 12 goals to guide DC United from the bottom of the Major League Soccer table into the play-offs.

But the former Manchester United and Everton forward missed a penalty in a shootout as his side were knocked out in the first round.

With Stoke getting relegated last season and Saints currently 2pts off relegation having won 1/11 games is it time the rest of the football world agree with us?
Mark Hughes is a **** manager
