It's a ****ing atrocious idea. And one dreamed up by the money men to rinse more readies out of the TV and sponsors.

Might actually give Spurs a chance of winning the league though if it ever happened. That said, they'd probably still go all Spursy and bottle it to Wolves.

The thing is I don't actually believe that there's a real want of it from the big clubs in England at least. It would never fly with the fans either.

@FSG's Last Stand is right. This comes around every time the ‘big boys’ try and overturn the equal share TV deals and want a bigger slice that’d **** the league but satisfy their greed and self entitlement.

One day their bluff will be called.

There is a move to play one of the La Liga games in the US and that has been met with fierce opposition from fans, Spanish FA and the Spanish PFA. It's only La Liga trying to push the move. Personally I don't think there's any appetite for it from fans, players and football associations in Europe to either have a Euro super league or games played in other countries.

We already have the Champions League. That's good enough to be honest. Why **** with the domestic leagues ?

Maybe it will but I'm still not sure we'll ever see it unfortunately.

Surprised they’ve not found a way to shoehorn Champions League into weekends. The night games are crap for the markets they’ll want to be in.

A closed shop adaptation of the CL is much more likely than a super league imo. And then still have two separate European competitions in which teams qualify domestically.

I bet Uefa would love to have the power to scrap Huddersfield v Fulham or Girona v Real Betis on a weekend and replace it with a Champions League game.

There's a reason Spurs never got an invite into the G14 club association.

    Wonder what it is?

Haven't read the thread but I guess those amongst us obsessed with Spurs will have already made it all about us.

So how would you pay for the new stadium given the probability that big sponsorship would also follow the big name clubs?

I hope they do it. Teams might then start to believe that they have a chance to win something. Rather than just focusing on survival. Bring it on I say..

Don’t think Man Utd would actually be in it, any more than Leeds would. Unless former glories were enough to qualify.
