Morning all. Cloudy, but no wind, so doesn't feel quite as cold here. Logs here are sold by the steer, which is a cubic metre. You see them at the DIY stores on pallets ready to load onto trailers. I have sufficient wood from my fields to keep the wood burner going, a lot of it is ash which you can cut and burn on the same day. At some time before I had it the trees were coppiced, so there are plenty of trunks to use. The only trouble is that I have to do it. There are also some oak trees that have not survived the long dry summer, but it is recommended that you store them for a couple of years before burning. Off for a spot of shopping today, so will be eating out. Will head south to Limoges, but daughter tells me that the first snow can be seen on the high ground before you drop down into the city. We seem to have gone from summer directly into winter, missing out autumn.
snow in limousin hills Frenchie.... temperature went from upper twenties to frost and snow in two week

You're all doomed. Doooooomed I tell yer. The darkness is the coming and the judgement will be harsh. Well I've been up most of the night testing computer systems. At 3:30 am I would have said "Beat you to it" Dave, but I think it would have been cheating as I was on the way to bed. Here the rain that poured until 3am has passed. Everything clean and fresh. Great day to walk the beach. With the wind there will be a few kite surfers and wind surfers ploughing up the bay. Wish I could still do that. And a few birds sheltering in the dunes. That reminds me. Haven't seen the flamingos in a while. Lots of Egrets though. Enjoy one and all.
Morning all from a grey blustery rural France. I was pulled in yesterday for a document check as I was driving down to Limoges. Driving license, ownership document, insurance papers, all checked out with a mobile phone linked to a central database. Most unusual to see them working as it was after midday when they go off for their dinner. Still all were correct naturally, and I was sent on my way. Rather pleased as on the 9th of this month I am due to get my point back that was deducted from my licence six months ago for breaking the speed limit by 2 mph. The twelve points you start with get deducted for each infringement of the law, and get down to four points and the speed awareness course awaits you.
Good morning all from somewhere south of Brum on the M6.... getting away for a few days to Argyll & Bute. The weather is great today, the forecast less so.have packed an extra Barbour..... Just passed the Ricoh...
Morning all. A misty start, but now the sun is out shining on the lane which is still wet from the overnight rain. I think that more collecting of leaves will have to be done today as the areas I cleared are now covered again. I have been watching a couple of red squirrels planting walnuts into Mme's plant containers in the garden. They have been very busy, yet will forget where they have put them.
We are doing a lunchtime barbecue for the builders onsite to celebrate the 'topping out'. I've been racing about town trying to buy charcoal out of season. The builders are moaning that the boss has been invited.....
Morning all. Bright and sunny here so maybe I will spend most of the time outside until it is time for the game.
