Red poppy or white poppy?

I think the world could do with a whole lot more of it, personally. We’ve been killing each other for millennia, not sure much good’s ever come of it.

 

Non-violent solutions where appropriate. Violent ones where they're not.
Pacifism just rules out options and gives terrible people too much power.

 

Slightly different but when did the poppy thing become what it has?

As a kid growing up it was there but almost understated. None of this if you don't wear it you get hounded etc

I have a stance on charities, all charities, so don't partake anymore but I do believe the wars in Iraq etc we're frowned upon and a certain nationalism/patriotism agenda was established by likes of Blair.

Sad thing is soldiers get a really raw deal I'm hoping, especially those injured and needing help

 

It's everyone's personal choice as to whether or not they wear a poppy mate, and nobody deserves to be hounded because of it. I agree that soldiers should be looked after when they come home, and not just left to it.

 

I think a lot of our forefathers would probably head for the 'Tommy Gun' again if they were reincarnated into the mess this Country is now. Politicians have a lot to answer for over the last 6 decades, talk about really ****ing things up. We used to be a Country of standing, a Country that would fight to the last man standing, you'd be lucky to find the first man standing if conscription kicked in on the threat of a war..

Mind you, with the incompetent, out of depth, megalomaniac wind and piss woman we have at the helm at the moment, I'm sure the armed forces would think twice too..

Or their daily routine of living on their arse..

 

If you really want to offend people put a swastika in the middle of the poppy in support of those that believed in Eastern Mysticism who fought for Britain during the wars.


Joking aside. I don't remember anything but red poppies when I was growing up.

I'm not opposed to people supporting both or either chairty.

 

Just use an Xbox controller to fly drones and remotely control tanks. No shortage of people signing up for conscription.

Anyone who wears a white poppy is fair game for a kicking, we have a red poppy for a reason.

Can’t see the harm in either to be fair.
Both raise money for very good causes. If people who never used to buy a red poppy feel more comfortable buying a white one, that’s great.
Rather see everyone wearing either poppy than some not wearing any

They would probably be horrified that people like you exist. They fought so that people could have that choice.

 

Rather someone not wear a poppy than a white one.

 

I doubt it, if they know what this county has turned into they would probably not joined up.
