The way you've quoted that I thought those were DH's words. Was rounding up the Posse when it dawned on me.
I can understand rival fans having it in for Alli, Lamela or Vertonghen given they're all capable of Grade A ****ehousery, but Son? That's like having a gang of your mates give Barney Rubble a shoeing.
What about the other 14 poor souls forced to wear clown suits and run on the pitch at the start, after half time or as substitutes? #FreetheSpammer14
Wanyama picked up an injury and will miss the Wolves game! Hate to say it, cos at his best and fit he is immense, but we have to move him on. Dier (and Rose) both out til after the International break as well, so Winks in for a busy few weeks......
Wonder if Foyth could play DM? He certainly has the technical skills to play further up the pitch, just whether he has the tactical nous of the position. It would also allow Winks/ Dembele to focus on their natural games in CM, rather than one having to take a more defensive approach. Winks has started to look a lot better as well so I don't want him having to change his style while he's beginning to find his feet. Dembele's overuse of his arms in recent matches doesn't give much confidence of wanting him to take on a more defensive role either. Risky move to throw Foyth in there but it was risky to initially chuck Dier there, and that didn't work out too badly...
Good shout - and I certainly don’t want Dembele anywhere near that role. That’s an accident waiting to happen!
I was losing my rag with Dembele against PSV and City. Especially PSV, the amount of times he was holding onto players and putting his arms in the faces and drawing fouls was so frustrating, we all know how petty European refs are, he could've easily been sent off in that match had another less-lenient ref been on duty.
His reading of the game was massively improved on Wednesday. When he stepped up, he won the ball. That would be the area of concern, he seems to have all of the other attributes. I've said it before, that could be his best position.
That's not going to allay worries that he's following the Ledley/Dembele route of only being physically able to play one game a week
Foyth playing DM? Hmmmm, that is interesting. He certainly seems to have enough composure on the ball. Most times i've seen him play i've seen him maraud forward once or twice and go passed people. That won't be his main job of course but having that in your locker is a useful DM skill in tight spots.
