dean marney was equally as frustrating as koren, and a bit underrated imo..he played nearly every game in the engine room of a promoted side...
one thing he was good at, was turning defence into attack, he could pick the ball up on the edge of our box, and a few seconds later we would be in there half ...in many ways we are missing somebody like him at the moment, and thats why most of our atacks are slow and predictable.....unfortunately he just didnt have a consistent end product...

yes, where you? Brown must be an even bigger genuis then i thought if he masterminded a promotion carrying a passenger nearly all season, plus wins at the emirates and white hart lane with 10 men...marney was the only player still going box to box in the 90th minute..one thing you couldnt fault him for was energy and pace..

Marney was a player who just never got any credit. I know his shooting became a standing joke. But that first premiership season Ash got all the praise for sitting and cutting balls out but he had Marney and George Boateng running about like mad dogs on either side of him doing fantastic leg work. And with a front 3 of Geo, King and Cousin somebody must have done a lot of chasing and harrying.
His best game was 3-2 against Everton second season, Bullard ahd come back then got a knock and Marney ran the midfield.

i agree, but it takes more then that to make a team up, marney played a big part in 2 of our most historic seasons, and wasnt the useless sack of ****e he is been made out to be.

koren, ive been saying for over a year we need to get koren playing centrally...wouldnt mind a marney type player in there tho with him, just with a bit more quality, but his engine is something we miss imo..id rater have marney in our squad then harper and mckenna thats for sure.

Yes Harp's is crap, but id go for Mckenna over over Marney every time. i think the old boy is settling in now. He's not Ashbee but .....

You Know what ? Youv'e made me think about a box to box type. Yes we do need one !

I have to disagree there. Marney would be ideal as a partner for TC. Im hoping NP sees sense and plays Evans next to TC as Mckenna just is not good enough. To give him a 2 year deal and yet refuse to discuss it with Ash till season end!! FFS thats another arguement i know.

Evans gives the ball away too much,Cairney signals to feet,he's in loads of space,Evans hoofs it over his head to Brady. Who isn't there yet. Opposition throw in. Trying to think of a good Marney we could get on loan now. Look what youv'e done !

Evan's looked like a chicken with its head cut off. The Palace game was where Mckenna startedto look comfortable ! I think Evans isn't happy in Hull.
    I suppose it's about experience !

He always looks like a headless chicken. The guy is like a Marney with no real technical ability apart from Marney did have a bit of pace. To play Koren centrally you'd have to drop Cairney and imo, by the way that Cairney's playing Koren isn't worth it. For me it has to be McKenna and Cairney centre mids because of the roles that they play. Nobody else in the squad could come in and play the roles anywhere near as well as they do.

In life as in football everyone has a bit of a moan some times. That doesn't bother me. BUT I have no time for those that moan and are full of negativity ALL the time ... In life or in football . I think Nigel Pearson is a great manager doing a great job in difficult circumstances .

The constant negativity takes the piss. Especially this season were I think we're playing some of the best football in all my time as a city fan, we're just not finishing our chances. Yet people feel the need to boo or slate the team and the tactics without proper reasoning.
