He was a very quiet unassuming individual by all accounts - but it was the little touches that endeared him so much to Leicester fans - he gave away 60 season tickets to fans on his 60th birthday and every birthday he would give the whole stadium a free beer / drink and cake at the nearest game to it.

Fans making long away trips using Fox Travel get a free breakfast at the ground before the coaches set off and this week were already going to get a commemorative scarf each for the Cardiff game (i.e that had been announced before his death happened)

The one that sticks out to me is that he heard about a Leicester fan that had come off a motorbike in Thailand and he paid for the lad's family's accommodation whilst they were visiting him out there ... the lad's father was interviewed on the local news just after Vichai's death and could hardly hold back the tears...

Perhaps it was because he was born into quite humble beginnings, who knows ... but you can see what the Leicester public thought about him by the reaction that there has been ... <cheers>

Preston North End’s Paul Gallagher has revealed that late Leicester City chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha made a £20,000 donation to a charity his family was supporting. Srivaddhanaprabha died on Saturday, along with four others, when his helicopter crashed after taking off from the King Power Stadium. Preston North End midfielder Paul Gallagher was at Leicester from 2009 to 2015 Gallagher was with the Foxes between 2009 and 2015, spending time on loan with PNE before making a permanent move to Deepdale. “He was fantastic with my family and me,” the midfielder told North End’s website. “We had a difficult time ourselves and he was happy for me to be with my family, take my time and come back when I was ready. “My brother passed away through meningitis years ago and my wife did a walk to the Great Wall of China and his family donated £20,000, which they didn’t have to do, but we will be forever grateful for that.”

Look at the video at 35 seconds in, something flew from the direction of the helicopter tail rotor across the night sky, within 5 seconds following that, the helicopter was spinning.

Yeah I noticed that the other day but it was 46/47 seconds on the video I watched, if you pause it right you can see it more clearly. Like you say it seems to be the (or a) cause of the spin.

Yup, i played it on a 3 second loop it was unmistakable. You could tell within the following 5 seconds that helicopter was on course to spin.

Just did a search of that video footage on the net, it appears that few second clip was reviewed on Sky (not watched the news) it was suggested what we seeing flying towards us is the tail rotor possibly disintegrating! I expect the investigators will soon be able to tell if that was the case.

The likelihood of the tail rotor simply disintegrating is extremely low. The odds on it being caused by the aircraft coming into contact with another object is much more likely. Having watched that video myself it seems clear something came off the aircraft and given it started spinning straight afterwards that’s almost certainly relating to the tail rotor. However I reckon it hit something and given it was at night that’s most likely a drone, and it’d have to been a decent sized one as opposed to a small hobby unit. It was directly above the stadium so that could have realistically been a drone from the TV broadcasters i.e. BT Sports or the Police.
