The timing of this quote by Lascelles is absolutely perfect to deflect things for Ashley. We lose this weekend and seriously the atmosphere will be as toxic as its ever been and in some respects (i don't like saying this) and some of it will be directed at Lascelles. I honestly cannot believe he has sold his soul.

I think its been a bit misconstrued in the press, he did say prior to the Mikes a "Top Gezza" comment that he wasn't playing on anyone emotions or feelings about the club and that for the first time he's met the man (I mean ffs he's been captain for 2.5 years now and he's only just met the owner at a ****ing pizzeria) he "seemed like a nice guy". Jamal isn't the brightest lad and doesn't have the nouse to be as political as Rafa but it wasn't exactly a ringing endorsement and its 2/3 words of an interview that are being plastered everywhere - probably by Keith Bishop.
