Saw the video last night of the chopper taking off and spiralling out of control. Looked like some scary ****. Poor folk inside.

    Yeah, taken by a steward?

I'd post on here but don't know how/if you can post MP4 files.

What the **** was that puff of smoke when the engine started? Plus, it just looked wrong, like the person driving didn't know what they were doing.

The Pilot was the consummate professional ... as was his missus ... so there were two vastly experienced pilots on board ...

The BBC have since commented that the take-off was not abnormal

    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-leicestershire-46044277

The thing is when anything goes amiss with a helicopter it usually means a serious crash ... many 'experts' are speculating that the pilot was exceptional in being able to steer the out of control chopper away from where lots of people were still milling around ...

It would be fitting for the lad to continue building on his old man's legacy, and stay the course at Leicester.

    Question..

Fosse mentioned about this bloke donating all the money to hospitals etc. Which in itself is a great gesture. But why didn't he put that money to use in say the orphans of bangkok etc?

That probably wont go down well

No problem at all Comm - the answer is he has given plenty to charities in Thailand - part of why the Thai King gave him the 'honorific' surname change in 2013.

"Srivaddhanaprabha" means 'light of progressive glory' in Thai, and was bestowed on the then Vichai Raksriaksorn by the King of Thailand as recognition of King Power's (Vichai's) many corporate and social responsibility programmes, including education, charity work, children's health issues as well as sports and Thai culture.

Hope that answers your question? <cheers>

Fair enough mate. Good on him.

Maybe its just the fact that these things were only brought up after his death, that got me thinking.

Maybe he was an all-round good egg and didn't need the limelight in those situations. Which makes him an even sounder bloke.
