Everybody please remember to give your favourite West Ham supporting colleague a can of Carabao tomorrow. They'll love it. A superior alternative is to tie one of these ****ers to their car, but it's a little harder to manage. please log in to view this image
The main worrying sign for me was Winks' second half performance. Did well in the first half, but took a whack at the end of it and didn't come out with the same intensity after the break. Covered the defence fairly well, but disappeared as an attacking threat.
Thought overall that was a good watch. Sketchy in places but the result is all that counts. There were players out there showing hunger for first team action. Notably Foyth, Walker-Peters, Winks, Gazza and Sissoko. Far more energy than Monday night. We need more of that going into the winter months.
If we beat them in the league then I definitely won't mind but getting top 4 comes first for me regardless.
So the fixture is the 18th of December it seems. We have Burnley at 'home' on the Saturday before and Everton at Goodison on the Sunday after. I'm hoping we rotate for Burnley and chuck a strong side for the NLD, though Foyth and Gazza have to play in that regardless, they deserve it. I'd seriously love to see Gazza given the number one spot for a few games anyway, just won't happen, at least not yet.
He needs to build his upper body strength a bit more and I reckon he should be ready to challenge for a first team spot. Him and Dave complimented each other perfectly
Absolute rock tonight. If he can turn in more performances like that in his chances, our future at CB is looking very promising with him and Dave, not forgetting CCV either.
Yes mate. Who knows Foyth and Sanchez could be our future CB partnership. They certainly have the talent. Don't think CCV will make it at Spurs though.
I refuse to write CCV off just yet. I definitely think there's a player in there somewhere although it's going to be tough for him to stake a proper claim what with all the talent we have in the position, although having said that, Jan's not getting any younger and Toby could be off in the summer, so there could be a window for him to take advantage of.
Eriksen 'mock-praising' Sissoko's skewed shot near the end of the match that nearly turned into a beauty of a through ball for GK but unfortunately the latter was offside.
I think he's a steady eddie..does the job at hand but doesn't add any dynamism to our attacks and our team in principle is set up to have two marauding menacing full backs otherwise it doesn't work right.
