Son should've just hit that. Probably finished the game, but the hat-trick was on.

Good performance from a team with lots of changes. <ok>

Nice to see Skip get his debut too.

Who do we want in the next round then?

3-1 FT. Very happy with that, all things considered. Feared a loss, due to the changes, to be honest.
Two wins at the Olympic Stadium in 11 days. West Ham have barely managed that so far this season! <laugh>
Debut for Skipp and some game time for a lot of players that haven't had much of it. That'll do nicely.

Admit it, who else was happy when they saw Sissoko coming on?

  7. 3-1 - always happy beating the Spanners, but that performance raised as many questions as it answered.

My MOTM goes to Juan Foyth. I though he was very good tonight...love the way he drives with the ball and enjoys playing football not hoofball.

Feel for Llorente we are just not set up to play to his strengths with the 3 behind him preferring to knock it about through little pockets of space.

Sonny boy needed them goals...it will hopefully kick start his season...he hasn't got going yet.

Gazza shouting his head off at the defenders was nice to see also

    I've needed a game like this...one I enjoyed watching

Great result, Foyth fantastic. Made some superb tackles.

Gazza more convincing in goal than Hugo.

Buzzing to see Skippy getting a chance.

    Which questions did it raise?

I thought considering the collective rustiness of that team for whatever reason, we controlled the game well.

Ogbonna and Masuaku, I saw them on the team sheet and knew, neither can defend.

Definitely put himself in the frame for some more game time, especially while Vertonghen's absent.
A cultured defender, though very much a work in progress. Interesting to see how he progresses.

  17. Didn’t see much of the first half - and yes, maybe it was rustiness n some cases - bat some of the faffing around at the back was worrying, especially against a very poor Wet Spam outfit (in case there is another sort).
And although he got better in the last 10-15 minutes, Big Vic did little to suggest he will ever get back to his best.

    But a win is a win.... :emoticon-0148-yes:

A very satisfying evening and a great result.
Gazzanigga did well again, although he needs to work on crosses into the box.
Foyth easily man of the match imo. Reads the game so well and so composed on the ball. Next to him Davinson excelled again and who knows this might be our CB partnership in the future.
Son, Dele and Eriksen were a class apart.

I know Llorente scored but he was shocking for most of the match and has the turning circle of the Titanic.

Finally great to see young Skipp make his debut. Seen a lot of him in our youth games and the kid has everything to be a top player.

Gazza`s kicking is so much better than Lloris`, and unlike with Hugo, I don`t sh*t myself when he has the ball at his feet, he does not come out and claim crosses and corners though when you expect him to. Wanyama looks broken, a shadow of the player we once had.

The performance wasn’t important tonight. With about 9 or 10 changes you can’t be expecting miracles. We had to dig in at times and thankfully Foyth, with the help of Dave and Gazza done very well dealing with whatever West Ham had. The goal we conceded was poor, no one was on the back post (should’ve been KWP I think) but overall you can’t have too many complaints when we were facing a strong West Ham side and knock three past them. Those goals should give Son the ideal boost in confidence as well after a poor start to the season by his standards.

Really happy with that overall though, along with the Utd result, that’s the happiest I’ve been after a game. To see so many young and squad players, plus those returning from injury, get a nice result against a rival is very sweet indeed.
