It's god that it's not Manchester again, but The White ****e will become unbearable; cos they look like they're on the way to the EPL. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-46032962
Well if we are on about Leeds. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...-Jimmy-Savile-cheered-supporters-one-own.html Delete it if inappropriate.
Good news. The more businesses and organisations get out of London, the better- for prosperity, for democracy and for greater employment opportunities. Even better than Leeds, would have been York, which is halfway to Scotland and has been important for almost 2,000 years unlike Leeds, which has not been important for even 200 years. Leeds is very much in Manchester's shadow in cultural and commercial matters, it also already has a BBC and ITV studio. Does it need a third ?
The very first program shown on CH4 was Calendar Countdown, hosted by Richard Whitely... please log in to view this image What a grand opening that was... Richard Whitely...
Yes, decentralisation, do we still have a minister for the Northern Powerhouse? Wasn't Phil Redmond something to do with C4, another top northerner on the city of culture panel who got behind our bid.
With regards to the posts about does Manchester need it. No it doesn't, I still own a flat on Salford Quays and despite thousands of new flats being built I've still nearly had its value doubled in five years. All bringing it to Manchester would do is to create a London of the North. Selfishly that would be great for me but there are already enough businesses relocating here what we need is cities like Leeds, York and Liverpool to take some of the "workload". Not that I don't love living in Cheshire/Manchester, I love it, in just not selfish!
I think Osbourne is in Cheshire soon giving a presentation on the NP progress EDIT: Just Checked & it was a couple of days ago.
