I don’t think that at all. Where do I say that? What I want, in an ideal world, is a level playing field. That will be achieved either by a wage restriction (which would be illegal and unenforceable), or by the Premier clubs all becoming the playthings of sugar daddy owners. You scoff, but that is exactly where it is headed. Look at Wolves as the newest example of this trend.
Rumours that we're in for Juan Mata, a swap deal could suit both clubs in Jan as they are both out of contract in the summer.
He's available on a free in the summer too, so there will probably be a lot of clubs interested in him. Would you be up for a Ramsey/Mata swap ? Don't think Ramsey really wants to leave, but Mata has been heaping praise on Emery and clearly wants to play attacking football.
I like Mata but he's a little too similar to Ozil, isn't he? How would you fit both into your starting XI, especially with two strikers?
It's a bit of an odd one, there was a contract offer in place and Ramsey thought it was as good as done. Then they club withdrew the offer. There's been a few changes in the negotiating team at Arsenal, maybe somebody thought the offer on the table was too generous and pulled the plug, maybe the agent was agitating for more money. If anything this shows strength from the club, rather than being held over a barrel by a player with a short contract.
It doesn't suit him. It exposes his weaknesses and neglects his strengths. Maybe he should rejoin Rafa and go to Newcastle?
