Oh, I always thought of it as Raul the real madrid one <laugh>

    <grr>

Anyway, I was mainly making the point to tell the ****s that a north east side would be ****, especially compared to a london side.

Also, we'd give those 2 nations a game, especially croatia

But your defence is ****, Carroll in reality is about the same ability as Doyle ffs and Duff is awesome.

    Basically, you would lose

Going on your teams I would imagine McGeady and Duff would have a field day out wide. There would be a few goals in that match anyway. Putting Darron Gibson in an Irish starting 11 and leaving Robbie Keane out of one would get you stabbed in some of the bars I go to.

But Carroll is the new Gary Linekar you bassa <grr>

Long and Doyle feeding off Duffer and McGeady would stick about 10 past that defence <ok>

I think Ireland would win, but wouldnt be a walkover. Duff is average now and it pains me to say it but Carroll is a lot better than Doyle for example. Agree the dodgy defence (full backs) is what would lose the game for us.

The North East region is probably one of the worst at producing talent, even Yorkshire and Merseyside would make much stronger teams than the NE.

Long and Doyle are better than Keane now imo. In fairness I think your right about the fullbacks getting skinned but so would O'Shea and Kilbane - Downing and Johnson are really good players and to Lucaas - Carroll is a top player who if used right will be one of the best, hence why Liverpool paid £35m for him

You lot paid 35 million for the last one we produced <whistle>

EDIT: forgot Henderson as well, and Downing! You've spent near 75 million on players from an area that produces no talent?

Past Woodgate who when fit is a top centre back and Stevie Taylor who is better than people outside of Newcastle think. Fair enough the fullbacks are ****e put I couldn't think of other North East fullbacks

Woodgate is excellent when fit and I think it's a terrible shame the luck he has had. Like big Ledley King at Spurs. Super defenders <ok>

I didn't say you produced no talent, I said you were one of the worst at producing talent. You were scraping the barrel with about 4 or 5 of your players.

Compare that to a merseyside team that would have: Hibbert, Kelly, Carragher, Baines, Barton, Gerrard, Rodwell, Osman, Nolan and Rooney. Most of them are premier league quality players, how many of the North East squad could you say the same about??

From that north east side, Harper, STaylor, Woodgate, Henderson, Carrick, Cattermole, Downing, AJohnson, Carroll and Ameobi are all premier league regulars. It's not a huge divide IMO.

Totally agree. Ledley King is probably the best English centre back around, but has had terrible look. Woody is the same

What about a Newcastle supporting team? Players like Berbatov, Pienaar and also I heard Darren Fletcher is a Newcastle fan (well on the old Footy Manager Newcastle was one of his favourite teams)

I wonder if England's fortune's might have been different had King and Woodgate been fit all their careers.

Probably not really. We have been blessed with centre backs recently. Its just the rest of the team which has been gash imo
