    Wednesday 31st October 7.45pm
    Carabao Cup 4th Round
    London Stadium

It's Halloween and we return to the Chamber of Horrors for a repeat of last season's League Cup clash.
Hopefully this one will go a little better than that one did.

Little has changed since the last time that we faced each other, as that was barely over a week ago.
Our hosts only had one fixture, the ill-fated match in Leicester which meant a lot more than football.
Little has changed for the squads either, with only Mark Noble's suspension standing out.

Lineups for each side's last league game:

Spurs: Lloris; Trippier, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Davies; Sissoko, Dier, Dembele; Lamela, Kane, Moura.
Subs: Gazzaniga, Aurier, Walker-Peters, Winks, Eriksen, Alli, Son.
    League form: LWWWWL.

West Ham: Fabianski; Zabaleta, Balbuena, Diop, Masuaku; Rice; Diangana, Noble, Snodgrass, Anderson; Hernandez.
Subs: Adrian, Fredericks, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Powell, Coventry, Antonio.
    League form: WDWLLD.

    Referee: Stuart Atwell.

    TV: Not televised.

What sort of side should Pochettino select for this one, given the short turnaround?
Are there any youth or fringe squad players that you'd like to see given a chance or a place on the bench?
How should we approach it tactically and what should we avoid?

Gazza (got to give him the cups)

    Aurier
    Toby (No alternative?)
    Sanchez
    Walker Peters

    Winks
Wanyama/Dier - play Victor if fit

    Eriksen
    Alli
    Son

    Llorente

Would rather leave out our centre halves but we'll need them to beat a physical hammers side. Foyth/Davies would be massacred. I'm in 2 minds over Kane/Llorente. Kane desperately needs a break, but can we trust Nando.

It’s safe to say we’re going to see a massively rotated side having played City just 48 hours prior.

    Gazza
    Aurier, Dave, Foyth, KWP
    Wanyama, Winks
    Son, Eriksen, Dele
    Llorente

Not sure if Wanyama is fit, if not, Sissoko alongside Winks, or if Poch is feeling brave, Skipp with Winks and keep Sissoko fresh for Wolves.

As I said on another thread, It’ll be interesting to see how we approach this one. Last season we made about 6-7 changes, and had no rhythm. It just meant that the few players that remained in the team got even more fatigued.
I guess we have no choice but to do the same this time round, as we faced city 2 days before.
However, I still don’t think we’ll see Llorente start. Yes Kane may be dropped, but Poch might use the game to see how playing son or Dele up top works for us, much like last season when Kane was out injured.

    Gazza
    Aurier Sanchez foyth KWP
    Wanyama Winks
    Moura Dele Eriksen
    Son

Deli, Winks and Eriksen only did half an hour yesterday so I'd expect to see them start, they need the game time. Also Sonny. Gazza deserves to start, then any other 6, it's only the spam for fecks sake.

  9. That defence looks vulnerable against this Spanners outfit.....<yikes>
Agree with the remainder - but don’t see Sissoko featuring for long if at all. He ran his socks off for miles yesterday - wish others had showed that commitment - and doubt whether he could recover in time. On his current form I’d rather save him for another physical encounter at the weekend.

They'll likely be rotated too so I'd be surprised if we have to face their best lineup.

It's not the best of defences to have but they all need game time with the exception of Dave. Aurier's also looked pretty good in the games he's played this season, it's surprising he hasn't been used more, personally would've played him yesterday.

Agree on Sissoko, for me he starts vs Wolves no questions asked.

Eric Dier will miss tonight's (Wednesday 31 October) Carabao Cup tie at West Ham.

The midfielder is unavailable due to a thigh strain sustained in our Premier League encounter against Manchester City on Monday night.

Only reason I wanted him to play was to execute a Ramos style tackle on Mark Noble, and I think Noble is suspended for this one anyhow, so no big deal.

Looks like Skipp, Marsh, Eyoma, Bowden and GK have travelled for the game, whether they're in the squad or not we'll soon find out.

The DH-meister nails it again. That’s twice this season I've got it bang on. As that knobhead, Conor McGregor once said: "I PREDICT DESE TINGZ!"

Not sure anyone's looked at the BBC site but they seem to have picked up Lampard is playing against Chelsea. Can't tell so far if any other games are on.

Is this the first time that N'Koudou's featured in a match squad this season?
Good on Eyoma, Marsh and Skipp for making it to the bench. <ok>

That's a name not to be resisted

Better "Hammer horror" than "Spurs hammered" as the headline.
