Last season I went to a lot less than usual, I watched the first five or so matches of last season on iFollow - it would cut out every couple of minutes and there was no commentary so it was a pain to sync up with Radio Suffolk, so I'm not sure if it was the frustration of that or the football or maybe a combination of both. And went to five or six live matches, after he really started to turn on the fans in the new year that was the end of it for me.
Fair enough. With being overseas I'm a crap fan now - town wise, been to Blackburn H ( have been away ) this season Wolves A / Bristol City A last season ( Australia ) A handful of games early 16/17 Infact, since 2016, I think I've been to more Sheffield Wednesday ( the ex ) games and Shakhtar than Ipswich.
A fair few players and at least 6 or 7 of the XI, the ones you mentioned and Ward, Bish, Spence, Dozzell, Sears - not much quality and there was not much quality to begin with. He had to generate funds in order to be able to sign anybody (now a big chunk of January's transfer kitty for Lambert) so I think he did about as well as he could in that window with transfers. We are suffering from a lack of quality but I don't think he could have done an awful lot more on that front without the owner's backing in the window. If we hadn't sold Webster then presumably there would have been virtually no funds at all, and if we hadn't sold Waghorn the January kitty would be a lot less. Whoever it was that let McGoldrick go to Sheffield United really ought to be put in the stocks. Equally I doubt whether £10m is going to be enough for Lambert to buy who he needs to really change things, largely he is going to have to get the best out of what we have.
Yeah there is that lot. We will see what various players are like under Lambert. Well no re McGoldrick - he wanted to leave, was never going to sign a new contract, was on a lot of ££££ for us and it's sods law he's fit at the Blades. Just one of them really. Webster and Waghorn leaving did provide us with funds yep.
I think the biggest question mark right now is over Jackson. He has shown nothing at all. Imagine somebody gives you a shot in the Championship and that's how you pay them back? Unbelievable really.
I thought it was a very good press conference, he said all the right things let's just see if that translates into results. Whatever happens unless he truly screws this up even further we need to stick with him for the next 2 season's.
He said good things and made it clear that his Norwich days are behind him. He seemed positive and ready to get going and I'll back him to do well.
I hope everyone is trying their hardest, maybe with some new guidance and tactics he will come good, it must be remembered he only scored 15 goals last season in 50 appearances in the 4th division plus Cup matches so never has been a prolific scorer. His strike partner Billy Kee however scored 25 goals in 45 appearances and should have been our target I feel, but no matter he's no worse than other Hurst signings.
