@brb Said something the other day, like, life is full of chances. Got me thinking, I've never been a one who hangs around, and often rushes into things with no thought or concept of what may happen. I pack my bags and fook of of a whim. But for some changes are a big thing.. Moving in with yer bird. Buying your first house. Money pressure Job changes. Every thing is a chance. Life is a game. So what chances/big changes you took?
Yeah mate. To much thinking involved. Stick to you're easy page threads. Leaver the the thinking **** to others.
Putting my balls on the line by working for myself. Nerve wracking but also the best thing I ever did.
I once took a chance that the reason my next door neighbour was sunbathing topless was to seduce me. She wasn’t.
Always been one to take a chance. Never been a cautious type and by and large it's always worked out well for me. From smuggling DMT into the country from Venezuela back in my yoot, to ditching a £40k job a few years ago to start my own business. Life is what you make it. To coin a cheesy surf analogy, if you don't go, you'll never know.
I used part of my redundancy pay out to set it up. It was something I always wanted to do but didn't quite have the bottle to do it. My missus really supported me too.
See, now that's the chance i'm on about.. brb trying to be a clever **** as per norm.. Fair play mate,,
I think that most people who strike out on there own, besides making a good living, want to escape working for a boss. God knows I came close to chinning mine a few times.
My old job was stressful, but it was big money. It was a massive risk to chuck it all in and with it, a pension, sick pay, holiday pay, overtime rates etc. I probably work the same amount of hours now, for a fraction of the money, but I have the freedom to surf, go out on the bike, go for a swim etc. But more importantly I can go and pick my daughter up from school, be there for her school plays etc. and that is priceless. All depends how you measure your wealth I suppose. I've never been impressed with ****s who boast about how much money they've got. And those that do are usually trying to compensate for something else that's lacking in their lives.
True, but very few are fortunate enough work for themselves. Just having the balls to change, and take a chance is often to much for some..Easy life.
A lot of people put things off and file it under 'one day' and then never do it. I've always been of the opinion that if you want to do something with your life, then do it when you can, because you might not get the chance again in the future.
