Shame, early lapse, I dont think the rest was as bad as many are saying, certainly could have got something with a bit more luck.

Not the thrashing I expected it to be and as we kept them down to one goal I'm hopeful of a good season.

Great game we deserved a draw but it's one of our best so this could pick up our season. I know we lost but it gives us hope fro the rest of the season

Not as bad as it is painted, City actually created bugger all, and we should have got something out of that - Sissoko was good tonight - We definitely looked better once Winks and Alli came on.

Not sure what was more painful. Having to endure that performance or suffer my Polish father in laws constant commentary throughout. Either way, I’m vexed.

Trippier's mistake costs us the game.

Sissoko absolutely fantastic. Winks great when he came on. Dele also looked good. The rest? Lacking effort.

We missed Eriksen and Alli's A game tonight. Can't see who else will unlock a defence.

    Moussa Sissoko is my MOTM

Winks looked lively and had intent...but collectively some magic in the last third was missing.

Having said all that...Lamela should have buried that...frustrating stuff

Harry Kane seems to be in no man's land a fair bit...drops for the ball then tries to get back to where he should be to receive the pass but he just isn't a Suarez type to be good at that..no real pace..the link between him and the other attacking 3 is missing it's fluidity...it seems to have gone a bit flat

Gave it a good go second half. Shame we didn’t get a point, as we deserved one. City very average over 90 mins and were definitely beatable. Once again we didn’t take our chances, which proved to be the difference.

Also, didn’t have a starting 11 capable of causing city too many problems. Would have like to have seen 1 or 2 of those bench players start the game.

Amazing. Are our players taking it in turns to screw up....Lloris,Toby and Trippier?

The pitch? Absolutely delightful! Who do we sue?

We had three good chances. Lamela missed one and the linesman stopped two players who were clear in the second half.

I think with a better killer instinct we could have got something more so than from luck.

Felt like the team lacks belief in the final third...our attacking quartet seem a bit flat. Missed an on song Alli tonight

We were appalling at the start and there were some really worrying moments.

But for 65 -70 minutes we were their match and should have scored a couple.

A draw would have been a fair result and there were definitely some positives - notably Sissoko and Winks. MS was a monster all over the pitch and if he can keep up that level he will boss teams. MOTM by a country mile.

We cannot ignore some serious failings though - notably Dembele and Lloris. Trippier improved as the game went on and Davies was much improved last 20 minutes.

The worst performances tonight however were the officials. Dreadful - either useless or corrupt - but something needs to be done.

Oh well, hopefully the way we improved will see us improve in all games now :emoticon-0148-yes:

  16. Eriksen looked well off the pace when he came on. We need him back up and running 100% ASAP.

    Did you?

City didn't even play that well, but they were pretty comfortable for 75 minutes of the game. For all of Lamela's hard work and tenacity, he didn't create an awful lot. He did miss a sitter due to City's complacency, but off the top of my head, that's the only real clear cut chance you had. Kane was well marshalled by Laporte and Stones. Walker and Mendy were both utterly horrendous, but you didn't seem to utilise Moura at all to take advantage of that, and he was also pretty quiet.

To be fair, you did look a lot more solid after the opening 30 minutes, bar that Silva chance in the second half where he bizarrely decided to pass it back to Sterling from two-yards out. Winks did well when he came on. The much maligned Sissoko was actually decent, despite some of the minor errors he made. Alderweireld was his usual top class self. Davinson Sanchez did well after a shaky start, too.

You did well to stay in the game, but in the context of the entire 94 minutes, I don't think it's fair to say you deserved a point from that.

That's not a slant on you, though. The fact City weren't at their best, yet still won away from home against a top 4 side whilst keeping a clean sheet, just goes to show how good they really are.

While we played better than we're getting credit for (especially the army of Saltypudlian fans whining on our Twitter than we didn't help their team out...) as soon as they scored thanks to Trippier's brainfart we could write off the first half, yet we waited far too long to make changes - not least giving Dembele 70 minutes, even though he cut a tragic figure in the second half.

I hate to dogpile on Dembele considering all he's given us over the years, but Sissoko and Winks both played like they were demanding his spot in the starting lineup and it's hard to deny they have a point. The most frustrating thing (outside of the first half) is some players offered glimpses of what we know they're capable of, such as a couple of shots from Kane, some passes and that shot from Lamela, Lloris with some good saves, and Davies looked like he was putting his slump behind him, but glimpses aren't much use when 1-0 down

Kane missed a sitter in the first half.

We have different views as you would expect. I honestly thought we were the better side in the second half and I am happy to stick with my view that a draw would have been a fair result. I don't expect you to agree <laugh>
