That's true but Poch would rather do it at a club like Spurs instead of at clubs that do it with all managers. Poch is the type of man that enjoys trying to build a legacy...he would enjoy it more taking a smaller club to new heights...it's just who he is. However he can't do it with his hands tied behind his back.
Or at all. The only way he will be able to do it is if he can spend a **** load and that would be the same as doing it the way Chelsea/City have done it. It would take a season similar to when Leicester won it for Spurs to win it under the current model, and lightning doesn't strike twice.
Brother Bobby and Bodi will be fuming when they read that. They’re the only Chavs here who will see that you’ve just ripped the piss, Bruv.
No one was disappointed; there wasn’t a single player in the whole of world football good enough to get in the Spurs squad, that’s the only reason they didn’t buy anyone
I'm not sure about that...we have a much better squad than Lesta and we are built to last longer than a season with challenging at the top end. However in a league containing two financially doped clubs...United, Pool and Arsenal....we need a chairman who is going to back his manager or it will be very difficult..it's the chairman holding us back not Poch.
Staying there is a different thing and Roman achieved that for you with his Roubles, fair play to him.
Agree that Harding should take a lot of credit for our success in late 90s. Anniversary of his death last week. RIP Matty
But you don't have a generous benefactor or generate the amount of money Chelsea do. So why should you expect more.
Does seem rather a strange echo of what happened on the weekend, unfortunately. Didn't realise the timing. I knew that Ken Bates was a piece of ****, but his comments about Harding after his death were appalling, even for him.
Didn't know you knew him so well ... next time he's round your gaff invite HIAG up ... he'll wet himself
Never liked KB. Box office manager Eddie used to take 2k+ off gate every week and hand the cash to Ken. Open secret, but all clubs were at it
It is more that in a season you would need Utd, City and Chelsea to all perform worse than they normally do (or Spurs to perform a lot better). From memory didn't Leicester have one of the lowest points totals to win the league? I'm sure someone (cough Fosse cough) will correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember that in previous seasons the points total Leicester achieved that year wouldn't have won the league and in some cases not even got them in the top 2 or 3? Spurs and Arsenal that season did about aswell as they usually did points wise but finished a couple of places up the table due to others having a bad year. So whilst it was great and unusual for Leicester to hit such a high points total, the "fluke" bit was also that all the usual contenders at the top of the league (City, Chelsea and Utd) had poor seasons and finished with lower than normal points. For all that to happen in the same season was a footballing miracle
George Graham didn't seem to realise that a lot of the old school "normal" stuff wasn't actually that normal! "We're all at it, aren't we lads? Lads? Where's everyone gone?"
