I’m expecting a very different starting 11 from what we saw on Saturday, with the likes of Pinto, Passlack (if fit), Godfrey and Sir Benny all starting. I’m just hoping that DF doesn’t risk too many first team regulars getting injured.
I’d love to see us go through and get a home tie in the next round.

Bornmuff will do their usual and cheat their way to at least one penalty with Wilson tripping over a blade of grass in the box <doh>

I think that's right JMF, except that Rhodes won't be able to play against Sheffield Wednesday this Saturday, so he could start on Tuesday, given that there's no midweek match next week. My guess would be:

    GK McGovern
    RB Passlack
    LB Pinto
    CB Zimmerman
    CB Godfrey
    DM Trybull
    CM Vrancic
    WR Marshall
    WL Hernandez
    AM Stiepermann
    S Rhodes

Subs: Krul, Klose, Aarons, Leitner, Tettey, Buendia or Cantwell, Srbeny

Do homegrown rules apply in the Cup? Godfrey, Marshall, Rhodes, Aarons and Cantwell would be the only players who qualify in that side. It's 7 needed for a league squad.

I don't think that applies to the cup, but if it does Krul would also count, so only on more would be needed.

From the presser - No Stiepermann or Cantwell tomorrow. Tonsillitis and a muscle pull. Cantwell a doubt for Saturday at Hillsborough too.

Farke admits the draw tomorrrow is about as tough as it could be. No hiding the size of the challenge awaiting at Bournemouth - and he knows who the favourites will be.

Suspect it will be Srbeny who gets a chance to show what he can do. Would be nice to see Pukki off the bench for the last 20/25 or so to get his sharpness up ahead of Saturday

From DF - Also points out have to be careful with Rhodes, first time he’s played 3 games in 7 days for long time. Sounds like Srbeny may start ‘really good last 15 mins on Sat’ & DF says ‘I like what he’s doing in training’.
I saw earlier on the highlights when TC had a weak shot saved , Sir Benny was standing practically on the penalty spot unmarked.

And unless the differences, whatever they are, are totally irreconcilable, it would make sense for Oliveira to at least be on the bench. With a view to the window opening in 8 weeks time, if nothing else.

    Dan O'Hagan‏@danohagan

Were I Daniel Farke, I’d be quite tempted to toss off the League Cup game at Bournemouth. Remember how the Arsenal heroics derailed the League form last season... #NCFC

From Freezer's column today: "Nelson Oliveira remains out of favour and is set to start this evening’s under-23 game against Fulham at Carrow Road (7pm)"

From David Freezer on twitter, Oliveira will play for the U23s tonight, not in the first team picture.

With the number of minor injuries in the squad, it looks like Farke won't have a choice but to rotate significantly. I don't think Rick's suggested side is far off. We certainly look short of numbers in midfield. McGovern to start was confirmed at the press conference.

    My guess:
    McGovern
    Passlack Zimmerman Godfrey Pinto
    Trybull Vrancic
    Marshall ???? Hernandez
    Srbeny

No idea who plays in that attacking midfield role. Does Tettey/Klose come in and Vrancic push forward (Godfrey as DM)? Buendia get a chance through the middle? 4-4-2 and pair Srbeny with Rhodes? Idah on the bench? Be curious to see if he's involved in the U23s tonight.

Yes, Cromer and I've said that on several occasions, but this time DF can play an almost 2nd team, so I'd like to see what he can achieve with a team similar to the one RER listed in post #4 - Sir Benny in for JR.
Edit - or DH above. Also, from the presser - the likes of Ivo Pinto, Ben Marshall, Felix Passlack, Ben Godfrey, Mario Vrancic and Tom Trybull have all been on the fringes waiting for chances to impress recently.

Comparing the side Bournemouth fielded against Blackburn in the last round, with their last league fixture, suggests they'll probably rest 7 or so players. Josh King is definitely out.

Smith, Francis, Lewis Cook and Lerma were the only players to start both fixtures. Will we see Surman play against us?
