Hereâs some info regarding Bendtnerâs Loan move to Sunderland from one the daily Danish newspapers:
Bendtner denies that he was close to signing for Stoke and that his father, who is his agent,never visited Stoke. He further states that as time dragged on and he wasnât going to be sold to a Champions League team and a loan was on the cards, Sunderland was the club that he wanted to go to. He says that he has great faith in Steve Bruce who he believes will get the best out of him.
In another article Bendtnerâs father states that there were two other clubs who were interested in him and the only reason that he wasnât sold was the price Arsenal were asking. He also says that he doesnât know the asking price but it was a key factor in the loan move.
Another article states that Bendtner was dating Bruceâs daughter Amy back in 2006/2007 when he was playing for Birmingham and she was left brokenhearted when they broke up ! So it would appear that Steve Bruce clearly bears no malice towards him.
Anyway, the pundits here in DK feel this a good move for Bendtner and expect him to have great season once he settles in. Only time will tell if he makes the grade !
