I think they’ll try and continue their fathers legacy, as it was obviously his passion. As you say the realities of having to continually come back to the scene of his horrific death might prove too difficult though. My guess is that they will continue but will maybe be a bit more remote in their ownership than their father.

Awful event, I just hope that all of the occupants were knocked unconscious by impact of the initial crash and weren’t trying to escape the machine as it was engulfed.

Could go two ways ... they might decide everything is too painful and start on a plan to sever the links ... or his son, "Top" (the vice Chairman) will step into his father's shoes ... if they did they would do it in the right way.

My recollection is that Vichai first took an interest in what was Top' s idea ...

Obviously I hope they want to continue and even turn the Club into a living memorial to the man ...

... but if they don't, fair enough ... they don't owe us anything and the memories will live forever.

I'm sure there would be other interested parties ... but that bit is just football.

When Marcus died, I thought "**** man, here we go again." We were still in League 1, just out of administration, and it looked like thd wheels were about to fall off straight away.

But to be fair to his daughter, she backed the project until we got back to the PL before selling out. Can't help wondering what might have happened if her father had lived and allowed Nicola Cortese (the chairman) to follow his dream all the way. Could have been us that "did a Leicester".

Fans were singing "One Marcus Liebherr" again on Saturday. How often do a club's owners get their own song?

Whatever happens at your club in future, you've lived the dream mate. Not many football fans get to see their club win the highest honours, especially those that support a small family club like uours and ours.

True in a way, but if not for Marcus Liebherr and his daughter I wouldn't have gone to the San Siro and Wembley in the same season.

    I really don’t get sick ****s like you ?
You have as your profile pic, a much respected wildlife conservationist, who was also tragically killed in horendous circumstances, yet seem to spout sick drivel every time you touch your keyboard.
I can only hope you don’t have kids or grandchildren who look to you for guidance and inspiration because what you have written so far is nothing but sick attention seeking troll like nasty drivel !

This probably isn’t the forum for you if you don’t want people to make lighthearted jokes. What happened was terrible, obviously, but taking the moral high ground won’t undo it.

He lived to see us lift the Johnston's Paint Trophy (you'll never win that) at Wembley, but not to see us in the PL or Europe. Or the Championship come to that.

Kat did alright by us really. Now it's up to the new owners (and the players and coaching staff). Early signs not great.

    Yes we do.

Redmond appeared to go backwards for a while, very much a confidence player I think. Badly needs a goal, but then so do all of our "strikers" and other forwards.

Gunn apparently looked good vs Everton in the League Cup or whatever the **** it's currently called.

Agree re the last statement for their own sakes. I think in time they will be ok coming back. Vichai bought the club primarily for his son Top to hand down to him so it’s sooner than anyone would have wanted and not in the circumstances either but I doubt he’ll want his fathers work to not be followed through. He is also a regular at our matches and a huge fan of the game so I can’t see him being too distant, I hope anyway.

Really nice comments from your club btw, there has been a mutual link at importance times between the clubs before, when one of your supporters died near our ground and you were the visitors on coronation day. I read that Vichai has always supported the family of your fan who died as well even though that was before his time at the clu

You’re right about the last bit as well. I think they’ll carry on as like you say it was for Top originally but if they did pull out they wouldn’t just flog the club off. They’d make sure the club was looked after.
As you say, football is least important right now
