    I'm feeling weird .

Just got back from a lovely walk at Portland .

The roof of the conservatory was finished on Thursday , so the precious concrete floor was kept dry .

    Or so we thought .

Has a plumber round yesterday , he did what he had to do , turned the water back on and after a few minutes mRS J said " what's that water " , a damp patch had appeared in the conservatory . As we were thinking Bugger , a slight leak , I spotted the new dining area floor / new shower room .

The Builders son had not capped off the hot water pipe in the shower room .

Might as well have turned a hose on the new floor for about 10 minutes .

Builder has to get some industrial heaters in , so we can dry the floor out . It has put us back at least 1 to 2 weeks .

So I'm not exactly sure what mood I am in .

    That's a **** long drive for a weekend!!

I love the Lakes. would happily retire there.

Spent a lot of time there as a kid, it's an hour up the road, and then went camping/climing/walking as an adult until the kids came a long. Bit of an anorak really!

Not been for way too long. Last time was a mates wedding at Windermere.

Keswick my favourite area, central fells.

Heading to Center Parcs for the first time. Anyone got any tips/advice. 7 of us going including our 18 month old daughter. Heard lots of good things but food/drinks a bit pricey?
    Cheers

thought the food and drinks were pricey for what it is. It's basically london prices. Activities can get expensive but overall i thought it was pretty good.

If you're worried about food costs (maybe around 10 - 15 quid a head) then there are cooking facilities so just buy a load of food there.

Activities where your not really supervised like pool and badminton the staff couldn't give a **** when you rent one court and take over and play over time from what i saw. Things like fencing, bowling etc obviously were timed and you finish. The pool activities are good but the one i went to woburn didn't actually have a proper pool. They have kiddy pools so your daughter might like that (maybe a bit young though)

    Cheers mate

Its the Sherwood forest one were heading to. Sure they are all quite similar. Not really booked any activities, just hoping to go with the flow. Probably spend alot of time in the pool area due to weather etc
    Looking forward to it!

It was a bloody long weekend for us Chief. A 7hr drive up there, the M6 is just a complete mess of road works, and a 6 hour drive back, with a small detour on the way.

I wanted to take the wife away before my op. Its her birthday this coming week, but I spoiled it quite a bit being so ill for much of it. At least we got some just us time together
