Don't think we need to panic buy anyone in January, some of our u23's when they've been introduced have been like new signings, but unlike new signings they fit in seamlessly, already at the levels of fitness required and indoctrinated in the style of play Jack Clarke is unbelievably good
At least Douglas could be back and so that just leaves us wanting a right backthat young ladShackleton did OK earlier on
Can we bring back Coyle from his loan deal. A quality RB who has been the best player in the (loan) club for a season and half
I know you wasn't Olof, and I respect your opinion and honesty as always. My point with BPF is, he tends to stay on his line, or close to it for crosses and corners when he should be coming out to collect the ball irrespective of what the defenders are doing, if he's fouled he has the ref on his side. He's also not vocal enough, and doesn't command / boss his area. I suspect he fears coming out incase he misses it, or fluffs it, and his positioning is catching him out, and costing us silly goals. Experienced players will notice it, and coaches will have done their homework on it. I know sometimes the defence, or someone in defence screws up, but if BPF comes out for the ball it helps to prevent a situation reaching the defenders / strikers. By being flat / lead footed on his line, he's relying / hoping, and putting the onus and pressure on defence to deal with it when he should be contributing. A punch away can diffuse an opponent's attack. I do wonder what the keeper coach is doing though, but also suspect BPF has a problem taking everything in......
Losing goals to set pieces means opposition just need to put 4 tall players up knowing 2 get pulled away with Pontus and Cooper leaving a spare or 2 as the main targets and we concede. I would say we need a more dominant keeper to control his box at set pieces knowing that the tactic is being used against us. Imagine if we had a really tall keeper ..... oh wait
Time to swap the keepers,Forest had one effort on target and scored 1,Blackburn had about 3,scored 2,so it's not like he's making other saves.
Positives We played some lovely football. Kept pressurising until the very end. We outplayed a decent team. Roofe's equaliser. Jack Clarke. Leeds fans, atmosphere in the 2nd half. Negatives Defending from a corner again for the goal conceded. Our final ball, not enough end product although we had our chances. Teams coming to ER with spoiling tactics - wasting time, falling to floor to break up play, fouling, Forest had four men booked, it should have been more! 6.0 Peacock-Farrell 6.0 Ayling 7.5 Jansson 7.0 Cooper 6.0 Dallas 7.0 Phillips 6.5 Hernandez 7.5 Forshaw 7.0 Klich 7.0 Alioski 7.5 Roofe 7.5 Clarke 6.0 Pearce 6.0 Saiz
A friend of mine just told me Jonny Howson was sat in front of him in the West Stand He must have travelled down to Leeds straight after the Boro' game
I agree it’s a shame we don’t have Bamford back but when he is fit I can’t see us keeping Roofe, Bamford plus one other top striker happy and then added to that our young talent trying to get a chance. My concern is both Bamford and Roofe are injury prone, I’m feeling Bamford might be a waste of money, not enough game time to increase his value, not fit long enough to make a difference, if we could have a refund now I think Bielsa would take it (I would) nothing against the lad but he just seems like a player who will spend more time on the treatment table. Ayling, Douglas and Berardi are massive concerns, if we have spare cash we need a top quality defender in ASAP. We play everything out from the back, that means a threat of Douglas and Ayling down the channels creating panic and fear, Alioski covers it well but Dallas doesn’t and Alioski in at LB then creates a problem left attacking midfield. The only thing different in regards to Hernandez, Saiz and Alioski is Alioski played more on the right, Hernandez the left last season, it shouldn’t make a difference to Saiz but for some reason he isn’t the player he was last season. I felt Forshaw did an excellent job in that position but... When Forshaw had the ball he was predictable yet solid, when Saiz plays there it is a case of will he give the ball away or do something magical with it. Maybe we’re just over analysing it and not giving the opposition enough credit, personally I see the two key players as Ayling and Douglas as they are not easily replaced, their injuries and absence is throwing our balance out.
The thing is Doc, the ball was knackers high when Robinson scored with the header and Dallas in front of him, all the Scab players were looking for the ball to be delivered, all our lot were looking the opposite way too concerned about the man
We had three shots on target and only scored one thanks to Roofes arm Chesh, if the other two had gone in BPF wouldn't be getting blamed for their goal Ipswich had two shots on target and BPF saved both one being a good save late on. We all seem to be looking for someone to blame instead of looking at the positives
Blackburn had 6 shots on target. Ipswich had 1 great chance that led to an excellent save. The chances we give up are good ones because we commit so many men forward and play out from the back. When we f*ck up it’s costly. But let’s re-sign wiedwald, he kept clean sheets for us, so must have been a great keeper.
