    From Leicester board .

Confirmed that Vichai and Rudkin have died, as well as the pilot. Awful. Not sure how a club comes back from this.

    Terrible tragedy

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was in the helicopter when it came down at about 20:30 BST on Saturday, a source close to the family has told the BBC.

More needless loss of life due to stupid helicopters. Why do they go down so often ?

I'm guessing that by design they are more prone to accidents compared to planes but the loss of life is smaller due to its limited carrying capacity. No comfort to anyone who's suffered a loss though

Former Leicester winger Matt Piper on 5 Live breakfast: "I was at the game on Saturday. I do the summarising for Radio Leicester on match days. The chairman was there.

"It is the darkest day for our football club at the minute and we are just waiting on news now and praying that everyone who did board that helicopter is all right.

We only talk about the huge things that the chairman has done for the football club but, on a day-to-day basis at games, he and his son give out free pies, beers, cakes, clappers, doughnuts, T-shirts – they are a shining example to other owners of football clubs.

"The connection they have with the people of Leicester - not just its fans - because him and his son and the King Power empire support local charities, hospitals. It's a real dark day if you’re a Leicester fan and for the wider community."

In 1993, almost the entire Zambia national team died when their plane crashed into The Atlantic shortly after take off. Death toll of 30.

In 1958, Man Utd.'s plane crashed on take off, with huge loss of life.

The fact is, despite the tragedy, and size thereof, life goes on.

    RIP. <rose>

I was on holiday in St.Lucia, and some people I was with chartered a helicopter to go on a tour of the island. I was coerced into going along, and I have to say I have never been so scared in my life. Never again will I enter one of these death traps.

Just got home from the Big Apple and I must admit when I have been there before I have gone up in one and did get a strong feeling of vulnerability whilst flying close to those skyscrapers.

Used to fly along quite happily at 200 foot or so in either a Wessex or Puma and never felt unsafe ( as a passenger not much I could have done otherwise ).

I have flown many many times in wessex and sea king helicopters during my 22 years in the RN and i loved the experience. I have also flown in private helicopters in NY and from Swansea airport on sight seeing trips and again me and my family loved it. More people get killed in cars and other types of transport than ever on all types of aircraft today......Sadly accidents do happen and it is usually a mechanical fault or pilot error but that wont stop me flying again,
I have a feeling that the owner and his Daughter and two pilots were in the Helicopter at the time.......RIP <rose>
