First Glenn Hoddle collapsing, now the tragedy at Leicester.

Terrible tragedy, presumably there were fatalities.

Helicopters have a very poor safety record compared to other kinds of aircraft.
Even In the extremely unlikely event that I ever become rich enough to own one, I would never go near them.

Dreadful shame for whoever was onboard Royston and sure as eggs the pilot would have been. I've seen a helicopter crash and fire close up and personal and the "remains" of the contents after. I wouldn't want to see another one.

Glen Hoddle had a massive heart attack and was saved by a BT cameraman who knew how to use a defibrillator.

First aid should be a mandatory thing for all of us - and taught as part of the schooling curriculum.
I for one would shamefully not have a clue what to do in such a situation!!

Seems like the owner was on board, don’t want to speculate any further on that

It’s interesting to read the comments coming from Leicester this morning, as to what the owner actually did for the club and the city.

He respected the traditions of the club is a common theme - on saving Leicester from administration in 2010, he loaned the club £100m...which he then converted into shares. He financed repeated heavy investment in proven managers & players from 2010 onwards - he didn’t get them all right, but he showed his intent to supporters. He never spoke in public, let alone make crass insulting comments. Perhaps best of all, he quietly donated millions of pounds to hospitals in the city to fund new units and facilities. At the time of his (likely) death, he was financing a £100m project to build Leicester a new training ground, and an extension to the King Power stadium.

All of the above would be lost to the current Charlton owner - he simply wouldn’t understand.

The Leicester owner bought the club for a reported 39m in 2010; and our owner is asking 50m for Charlton..........???? And he is certainly not community minded, unlike the poor guy who has just died. RD take note!!

BBC Sports Correspondent Dan Roan is facing calls for his resignation, after revealing outside Leicester’s ground today that the owners young Thai mistress was among those killed on the helicopter.

Roan has tried to apologise on Twitter - with predictable results <yikes>
