PVM had his chances alright... every day at the training ground. Warnock's only human. Sees one thing and then another. If a player's cutting it he'd be easing his way towards the bench for sure. As for Hogie baby... agree with you HE but less diplomatically. Like Agyemang, Hulse, Rowlands and Cook, ain't good enough at this level. Simples. Actually, he weren't good enough for the Championship first team neither... Great goal at Doncaster though! If Perone turns out to be a bit of a PVM, we won't be replacing him with Ramage in January, we'd likely move up a level and buy someone with a bit of presence and ability. Tough game football. Kicks us fans in the bollocks on a reg too!
Training ground & match situation totally different ball game, if you pardon the pun! But, I take your point. If he'd have stood out in training, then he'd have been given more of a look in.
I think that contract was a contingency plan in case the takeover didn't happen, and no transfer funds were forthcoming.
I must be the only one that doesn't rate Hogan. Definately NOT a Premiership player.........................yet.
Agreed. Warnock essentially had to choose 3 from buz, mackie, puncheon and hogan. Definitely would put buz and mackie ahead of hogan............and puncheon did put in some good prem league displays last year for blackpool to warrant his place.
we got a forward in jay simpson and danny nguessen in the deadline transfer but gave hulse the choice to join us but wasnt intrested so hes blown his chance , ****tu would be a good addition on loan as was a success on his spell with us.
Really? Didn't sound like it up until the Bolton game! Disappointed Ephraim didn't make the cut. I would have him in ahead of Buzsacky any day. PVM was another Paladini signing and Shi*tu and Damage were only signed up because Nelly wasn't being given any support at the time. Warnock's built a decent looking squad there. He's done brilliant work in the market considering he only had a few days with some dosh in his back pocket.
I've always thought Hogan was a bit lightweight and inconsistent, not really gonna be anything more than a squad player at Championship level if you're looking for promotion...
Come off it Swords!! There weren't many that didn't agree that we needed to strengthen greatly!! And as for preferring Ephraim to Buz? Oh dear!!
I beg to differ Col. To my recollection the vast majority of posters had us staying up (some in the top 8!!) despite having spent nothing. Those of us who disagreed were constantly being called "whingers" and "pessimists" and other such things. I don't rate Buz, haven't done in a long time. I thought Ephraim might do as a squad player. But Nel obviously knows what hes doing.
Sorry col, But I agree with Swords here. If you were talking about before the injury it would be Buzsaky no contest. I have no problem with Buzsaky, but Ephraim played very well (Reading aside) whenever I saw him last year. Plus he scored 3 very good goals.
