I am relaxed...just about nodding off reading this Chris Evans petrol head stuff.

Can't we talk about summat more interesting like pop up toasters?

I've got a 4 up chrome finish 'retro feel' Breville toaster, with six-knotch gradation controls, bought last Christmas.

I had looked at the De Longhi ones but I felt they were over-priced for what they were offering, and for me Breville was a name to trust, and the 4-up thing was the clincher.

I won't compromise when quality is involved.

I bought a Breville flat sandwich press a few years back. I've spent years perfecting the toastie. Butter both sides, ham, mustard, mozzerella. Boom. Or, corned beef and cheddar, with a bit of Lea and Perrins. Or, pepperoni and provolone with a slice of pastrami tucked in for extra gout, with mustard.

I've never been convinced by the flat sandwich press - at least vertical offerings, can't speak about the horizontal ones, and confess to assembling them (usually italian flatbreads like piadine) and scorching my finger tips.

I think processed cheese slices are a no- no, too runny and greasy.

Brie is Ok, so is provolone, but best of all is the squacquerone (an italian soft cheese can be bought from Borough market or a decent italian deli). Mozzarella is OK too- now it can bought in slices.

Rocket, Parma ham, shavings of Parmigiano, speck are all versatile fillings.

If you are feeling flush, smoked salmon and mascarpone, garnished with chopped chives is the way to go.

With a glass of Verduzzo or Prosecco, or even a Negroni . .

The bad news for you is that I was thinking of buying or leasing a new or used Ford.

    Not any more.

You can't fit a slice of bread in our toaster. What the ****'s that all about?

You have to do one half and then upend it and do the other half. It's half a ****ing toaster. Mz Kempton bought it.

It's got a little thing on the side where you can poach an egg. I'm not even kidding.

Do your toast under the grill. Poach your eggs in a little pan on the hob.

I'm all wound up now ffs:angry: :headbang:

    ****ing toasters :headbang:
