Be interesting to see whether he sticks with Jack and Wes or if he just felt they were better suited to Bournemouth.
I am hoping for some stability at the back and players now should be having to earn their place in the team and after the Bournemouth game the only two places up for grabs are Mo's and Charlie's
He said afterwards that he had picked them because they impressed him on the training ground. And as they didn't let anyone down on the pitch, I'd say they'd be at the front of his mind. Unless he's been training for a different approach tomorrow.
Anyone coming in for the game, via the M271 and Millbrook Road, might want to give themselves an extra 10/15 minutes, based on my recent journeys home from work. The M271, southbound, was backed up to the Lordshill junction Wednesday and Thursday, but empty today. Hard to judge what it will be tomorrow. Millbrook Road. Problems are being caused mainly by container lorries that can’t access the docks via Millbrook Roundabout. They are now taking a right turn at the Regents Park Road traffic lights and owing to the short slip road and short time for the green light, they are backing up into the outside lane, effectively blocking it. My advice would be to get into the left hand lane, as soon as you come off of the Millbrook flyover, as it tends to be the most free flowing. Traffic report over. Edit. For comparison my journeys are always between 12.30 and 13.30.
In Southampton's Matchday Preview they have a statement from Mark Hughes stating that "We're very close to where we want to be" - does this suggest the Board's aim is to get us relegated
Was in Southampton on Tuesday evening (about 5pm from Bournemouth ) and I noticed the same thing - get in that left hand lane Cheers St B
Take out the last couple of seasons and think about how we USED to give managers a couple of years to settle in. I think a lot of the animosity towards Hughes represents a cumulative effect of two poor seasons. Looking at it clinically we are heading in the right direction and may well be close to giving someone a real thumping. I’m no Hughes fan but see no reason to doubt him yet.
Sounds straight out of the David Moyes handbook that, he'll be telling us that we should aspire to be Bournemouth soon
He hasn't played Shane up front on his own and Davo at AM consistantly and there does appear to be a method to our offensive play so that is a big step forward for me personally. We did start off ok last season in the way of results but lost our way around this time and only beat Everton at home in the league until about February I think. I still think that Hughes' biggest task is changing the mentality of the squad into a winning one. A few games of seeing games out after leading would help.

Early start. Come on saints. Just realised I have not been to a saints game that we have won in almost a year. #todayistheday.
