I was there too...unforgettable game. Have told the story before, but one Newcastle fan moaned that he had entered a car wash with Newcastle winning....and exited to find they'd lost 3-1
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45941891 Lawro gone for 2-0 loss for Saints. His reasoning needs highlighting. But because Newcastle have sunk so low in recent weeks, I see this game as their turn to win. https://www.skysports.com/football/...ttenham-vs-man-city-crystal-palace-vs-arsenal Merson gone for Saints 1-0 win.
The last time we played them and lost pathetically was my least favourite saints game of all time. To see us go down without a whimper, and the fraudulent Pellegrino making no changes... still angry about that day now. Need a big performance here, but I honestly don’t think we have it in us.
You Olds are mad. RSS mentioned the 3-3 Leandre Griffit/Alan Blayney game in 2004 (it's on Youtube). The defending!! If Wesley Hoedt played anything like them lot it would be a full blown Twitter meltdown.
I'd be tempted to drop Austin for Armstrong for this to try and get some more creativity in the side. If not then Long up top with Ings please.
Something clearly needs to change at home, even just a bit of tinkering I would like us to attack the northam 2nd half.
I think the crowd has a bit part to play on Saturday, the mood in the Kingsland so far this season has been pretty grim. Love to see Bert & Cedric come raiding forward and really stretch the Newcastle back line, we need a win and I don't care how we get it.
This match is the acid test for me, since the Brighton match, where we played well and scored twice and then mentally panicked and couldn't see the game over the line we have played Liverpool, Chelsea and Wolves and Bournemouth away. There was no chance of anything against the first two but we were well in the games with the latter two. If we put in the same attacking performance as we did against Brighton then I think that we will win because the defensive discipline and shape looked much better against Bournemouth. Whatever anyone says, we are still a work in progress and we have played more purposeful football that we did under all of Pellegrino's reign. The results do need to improve along with the better football as points gained are the bottom line in this game.
In what way was he "fraudulent"?, were there some 'Arry style brown envelope stories that I never heard about?
Agreed but I would add that we need to really have a go at them this weekend, don't let them build up confidence by us being lacklustre. They're as bad as us defensively so we should go at them from the first whistle. Long back in please.
Still half tempted to go to this but I can't really afford it with Leicester next week. I see block 43 is open.
Well there was only 27k at the Bournemouth Match last season according to the old bill I thought it was selling well though?
