Funny you didn't draw comparisons to the guy who was arrested after sending CNN messages including "Fake news I'm coming to gun you all down" back in January, or the bloke who threatened to bomb the "enemies of the people" at the Boston Globe back in August...

Please feel free to explain to us why I would draw comparisons
to people in the USA I was not aware of until you stated their
existence (without your usual descent into ad-hominems if you can) ...

Please feel free to explain why you're suddenly ignorant of Trump supporters trying to murder journalists critical of the Trump administration, both of which were
    a.) Hardly obscure news stories
    b.) Discussed in this thread

You might want to take a closer look at your last couple of responses before you start throwing the term "ad hominem" around, too.

My knowledge of the daily events of USA politics is not as lengthy /
dedicated / encyclopedic as yours < nobody is perfect >

So I am only aware of two attempts in the past two months where it looks on
face value like real attempts to kill people involved in USA politics
(the ricin stuff, and the events of yesterday) .

Now I am aware via you of two more threats to murder people in USA politics
over a longer time period. I assume you are going to tell me that they too
resulted in real attempts such as the above.

"You might want to take a closer look at your last couple of responses before you start throwing the term "ad hominem" around, too."

Please feel free to post text from my "last couple of responses" and
show how you believe it constitutes typical ad-hominem rhetoric.

I guess Trump is what was known as a rebel rouser and there are a lot of gun toting loonies to believe him.
Apart from Hitler,I don't remember anyone that can open his mouth like Trump and spout so much crap....and he does so well.
I wonder who those women are at his rallys that hold up "women for Trump" signs. For what? He hates women unless they are naked and are bum smackers!

...and now a device has been found at Robert de Niro's restaurant in NYC, plus two have been sent to Joe Biden, so the updated list of targets is as follows

    Barack & Michelle Obama
    Bill & Hillary Clinton
    Joe Biden (twice)
    George Soros
    Eric Holder
    John Brennan/CNN's New York office
    Maxine Waters (twice)
    Robert de Niro

Or, to put it another way, packages were sent to the following locations
The Clintons, Soros, Brennan/CNN, de Niro - New York
    The Obamas - Washington DC
    Biden - Delaware (two locations)
    Waters - Maryland & California
    Holder - Florida

Those last two stick out from the rest not just because they're not in the confined area of the main batch, but because while it may be possible to have packages arrive at the same time in New York, DC, Maryland and Delaware on the same date, it certainly isn't possible to have them arrive on the same date in Florida or California without either sending them a day or two earlier or the packages being sent from different locations - and the USPS confirm this on their own site, as selecting Chicago as a posting city (for the sake of getting it to work, and definitely not because I was looking for a city in Minnesota...) reveals the posting times for a package
    NYC - 5 days
    Washington DC - 5 days
    Maryland - 5 days
    Delaware - 5 days
    Florida - 6 days
    California - 6 to 7 days
    Since you asked...

1.) "Please feel free to explain to us why I would draw comparisons to people in the USA I was not aware of until you stated their existence (without your usual descent into ad-hominems if you can)..."
2.) "Or have the police authorities determined (with lightning speed) that the perpetrator is definitely politically motivated (specifically hatred for the Democrats and their perceived supporters) ... ??" - because nothing says ad hominem like a passive aggressive dismissal of the opposing viewpoint

He has played well his "non-establishment" hand.

"Apart from Hitler,I don't remember anyone that can open his mouth like Trump and spout so much crap....and he does so well."

Adolf was a terrifyingly good orator.
If his skills were at the low level of Trump, I really doubt he could
have swept all of Germany along with him (even with the bite of
the reparations and the useless Weimar govt in the time of the
    global recession) .

And your answer to the question is ??
Why would I draw comparisons to people in the USA I am unaware of ??

"Or have the police authorities determined (with lightning speed) that the perpetrator is definitely politically motivated (specifically hatred for the Democrats and their perceived supporters) ... ??

    And have they ??

Or perhaps like the ricin incidents, it is better to let the police take
their course and get the answers (just as Trump supporters who on
day 1 claimed twas instigated by political haters against him were
shown to be utterly wrong) .

"because nothing says ad hominem like a passive aggressive dismissal of the opposing viewpoint"

You do not appear to like the flippant style that you engage in,
being used against you (which is why I do it) .

But nothing screams textbook ad-hominem more than suggesting
that peoples' actions on matter X are suspect because they made
death threats on an unrelated matter Y ...

I find the USA presidential nomination process strange.

Specifically that Trump could be a Republican nominee
when he had no real links to that party (grass-roots activism.
    serving/served in Congress etc) .

What goes over a lot of people's heads is the way Hitler used language: he used a more simplistic version of German that not only meant he had a far better sense of rhythm to what he said as he could pace it almost as if it were a piece of music, but by using words that were short and punchy it lent itself to the gestures he was making while speaking.

That's the key difference between the two: Hitler's use of simplified language was quite deliberate, as he was writing his speeches himself so knew what he was doing, Trump's use of simplified language is purely coincidental because any time Trump makes an off-the-cuff comment we get things like "local milk people" which is something I doubt even Boris Johnson would be willing to maintain his buffoon act to say.

To use a term we've heard all too often, the Republicans bottled it during the nomination process

First they had seventeen people all throw their hat into the ring for the nomination, which was always going to grossly dilute the nomination process as the likes of Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Sarah Huckabee-Sanders' dad, Rick Santorum, Lindsey Graham, Rick Perry and everyone else were always going to cancel one another out, but as the selection process is so utterly fubbernucked there was never any question of the party stepping in and telling half of the people saying "Pick me!" to do one.

Secondly, and most bottlingly, Trump outright threatened to stand as an independent if the Republicans did not endorse his candidacy - and because Hillary Clinton is Satan incarnate to Republicans and has been since the mid-90s, the thought of Trump splitting the vote and allowing her to coast into the White House terrified them to the point that they endorsed his candidacy, which is a set of circumstances that I doubt would have come to pass if Bernie Sanders (or any of the other five candidates) got the nomination as the Republicans would have likely believed that Bush/Rubio/Cruz/Santorum/Perry would have got the job done.

I'm sure thousands of former BHS employees will be happy to hear that half a million quid from the pension fund Philip Green scarpered with was spent on filing a gagging order...

So first milkmen were "local milk people" and now domestic terrorism is "bomb stuff"

On the subject of domestic terrorists, the so-called MAGAbomber has been identified as Cesar Sayoc Jr, a registered Republican who classifies himself as white in spite of his Native American heritage, and has posted various Twitter conspiracy theories about Obama, Maxine Waters and Elizabeth Warren. Here's a couple of pictures of Sayoc...

On the subject of people tweeting conspiracy theories, let's see how long before Paul Joseph Watson remembers to delete this...
