A Request

This is just going on the Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool boards because historically any problems of OTT wind ups seem to be between you, that’s what success brings I guess?

These forums are for football fans to meet up and discuss their team, occasionally we go onto other teams boards to discuss football and yes it has been known to have a little wind up. I honestly believe that 99.9% of fans on this forum do exactly that and know how to give and take the odd wind up. The moderator’s role is to ensure the small minority left do not spoil it for the vast majority.

Could I ask you to please help your moderator, they don’t get paid, give their time freely to try and make your board the best it can be, I stress it’s your board.

If you are thinking of going onto the board of another team to debate, great, if your only aim is to incite or insult then please think again, its not what this forum is about. More importantly if a particular member is constantly coming onto your board to WUM you, we all know who they are, remember they only have an affect if you react. Whatever you say is what they want, logic and insults fail, its attention they crave, deprive them of it and they go away. Ignoring their articles is easy but how do you ignore their comments, easy, use the ignore function. If you all do it they will die off very quickly. Settings, Ignore List, Type in user name, send.

Finally can I say to the serial wum’s, the moderators neither have the time nor desire to spend their day reasoning, warning or deleting? Continue what you are doing and they will tell me and I will ban you from that particular board. Continue elsewhere and you will be banned from this forum.

I really don’t want to come over heavy handed but all I ask is we all respect our fellow football supporters. We all know our team is the best, we have no luck, they get all the luck, they are arrogant, and we are not. Trouble is they feel exactly the same.

As you say, each member has the ability to not reply to a post, and to ignore any poster so let the people have their fun and banter, do you really spend all your time on here discussing nothing but sunderland football?

Correct. On 606 I loved yeboyebo and I like forza napole but they probably would have been banned on here a long time ago even though they weren't particularly insulting

But that's half the fun of multi team forums! You've been on the newcastle board quite alot, was everything you posted seriously serious adult informative and interesting debate?! or was some of it, haha look at the geordie ****ers!

As you've said, people have the ability to not read wum posts, or to ignore posters, so why become over zealous and delete everything and ban everyone?

i spent hours the other day on the united board, talking utter ****/insults with a united fan or 2, all good fun, nobody got upset annoyed or whatever yet if we tried to do something similar now apparently i'd be banned from the united board and it'll be locked.

 

My request is an attempt to start and do exactly that. All I'm saying is if a member thinks this forum is worse than 606 then fine, he does not have to stay. On 606 you would not be talking to the mods, I dont get paid for doing this but do it because I want to make this a good open grown up forum. One that everyone enjoys and I have never banned a member, it really is a last resort. All I'm asking is that people help me and help the moderators by being sensible.

 

I dont think I have said any of that, infact I have said that deleting or banning is a last resort and yes I spend a lot of time on the newcastle board, we talk about lots of things and we do wind each other up, not a problem. Talking utter ****e and insults, without complaint, without deleting would suggest all is well.

 

I didn't say they didn't. What I said was posters like those I mentioned, who are a bit of a laugh on 606 with their random posts and lighten up some peoples day, woulnt be tolerated here even though they werent insulting in the slightest.

And j agree with Aberdeen. Not a great attitude to have when you're supposed to overseeing this place.

 

Depends on the people and the kind of childish abuse, if it's the sort of thing "av u won da treble? av u fuk" spouts blindly shoutin swearin an insulting for no reason then yea there's no real need for it, but a thread or 2 on the united board yesturday between me and jip jaap stam, the majority of it was insults, childish changing of quotes etc but both enjoyed it, nobody was insulted unduly etc

And again i agree about unoriginal posts with the kind of thing like "YOUR TEAM ARE **** AHAHAHAH" need to be ****ed off

Agreed. there are people like him, who have not said a thing in relation to football, just completely abusing other people.

Tbh its alright to talk on other forums, but when people start going out of their way to start an article along the lines of "Fabregas is a ****" on the arsenal board it's clearly to annoy people. all they are gonna say back is "rooney is a ******** ***** and i hope Fergie dies, the ****** ***** ********."
and it just becomes unpleasant and litters the boards.

Tbh Mick and Syd. The majority can appreciate what you are trying to do, and have done for the site. So don't get wound up by these guys
